I was thinking about putting hid in my apex but I want to know some thing first what the best 55w hid kit I can get and dose the apex have any probs lighting them up i don't want the led ones

I've had good luck with Rockmeister's HID kit. Have installed 2 kits so far. Customer service is excellent.

Sorry. 2 kits, 2 sleds

ROCZTOYZ.com Awesome product's! All 3 of our Apex's have his HID kit.

I have Rocks kits in all 4 of my sleds, very happy with them, and great service also!

I use kits from DDM tuning. $60.00 +/- and they have always taken care of any issues. I had a high dollar kit from both Yamaha and Sylvania fail in under a year so we have gone to the value sets. I have installed at least 20 sets between the sleds/quads and anything else they will go in.

AFAIK - they all come from China and aside from the sticker/box I am not sure of any differences between them.

Ya they r way Brighter then the 4300k
Not sure where you are getting your information from, but 8000K bulbs are NOT brighter than 4300K. I am not intending to bash, I just don't want the wrong information being spread around the forum. 8000K bulbs look more blue or purple which some people think means they are brighter, but they actually produce less light in the spectrum that the human eye can detect.

Yup, what he said. The temp of the lamp is personal preference as we have rehashed that topic in another thread.

It has been a consensus that the 4300K is a very appropriate color for use on snow. In this case, a larger number does not represent better. Please keep in mind, this is very relative to each and every owner, and I'm sure we will have some debate in this thread as well. But without a special request, many of these dealers will provide you a 4300K lamp and anything else optional.

I as well have installed a Sledstart kit and two of Rocks kits. (3 sleds, 2 Apex and 1 Phazer) Cake to install and you will spend more time buring wires and zip-tying ballasts to clean it up.

Good luck, If you are unsure, get a good return policy.
