Since I got my VL after the snow was pretty much gone I only got to test it in the wet snow in my woods and with only an opening of 100 yards. I didn't get a feel for the power or lack there of. On paper it has about 30% power then my last sled a AC touring 570 fan that weighs the same as the VL if rear seat is removed on the VL . What would you guys say is comparable in a 2 stroke LC? Like if you didn't know what motor was in the VL and didn't know it was a 4 stroke what size 2 stroke would you think it was?

I didn't buy a VL to be a race sled obviously I'm just curious.

In my opinion its hard to compare.
For me that would be more like comparing dieseldriven cars vs gasoline.
Lets say for instance that you have a 80-hp fourstroke vs a 80-hp twostroke.
You will have more torque in the fourstroke, but less topspeed.

In the "car scenario" its similar. A diesel with 200 hp is as strong as a 300 hp gasolinedriven car, but the later will run faster.

First reply in a long time on this site. I just bought a used Multipurpose with 7,000 Kms on it in late Febuary after coming off a 2003 600 Venture with a 16,000 Kms and having a 136" track. First thing that got me noticing was the unreal hook-up of the track to the snow and at the same time the very little throttle engagement. Multipurpose is heavier but the power (torque) is awesome. Have gotten this thing up to 120 KPH on the dial a couple times but have also hooked onto a 1/2 cord sled load of wood and with no effort at all, towed it up and down some big hills back home. As the guy above says, difference between a diesel and gas car.
