I just put the seals back on my clutch side jack shaft and drive shaft bearings after repacking them with grease for this season. and I was gunna clean my clutches.... Whats everyone using to clean your sheeve faces.??? Some use brake cleaner and others say absolutely not... Whats everyone doing to get them sheeves to bite the belt for the best jump off the line.....

I remember reading somewhere that if you use anything other than Hot Soapy water it will go into the sheeves and come out while riding.

Compressed air first, as long as black dust comes out, then Scotch Brite pad medium or heavy.

Medium scotchbright (brown) and alcohol, followed by a cold water rinse and paper towel dry.

Spray Nine/Simple Green, Green Scothbrite with BOILING hot water to open the aluminum pores to release all the CRAP, rinse & scrub...then rinse! and rinse! and wipe it good and DRY, also wash your BELT with dish washing soap in hot water and rinse and rinse and sponge dry with a clean cloth.

I did that one time with my Bronco's air intake plenum. Couldn't get in to it real well to clean it, so in the dishwasher it went. Then came the truth behind the old saying " Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission".
Did a nice job on the plenum but took forever to get the black color and smell out of that thing.
