Ok I have had the sled two winters now. It had 5200 miles when I got it now has 7000. what a grate sled first yamaha came from a cat F7. It has many mods they are listed below and now want to do more, thinking shock should be next. I dont have lots of cash so it is nice to know that even with 7000 miles sled still has a lot of life unlike 2 smokers. I am looking for your input on what to do next shock is in stock form, it bottoms out to much. Am also thinking of stretching to 144 from 121. Have about 1000 bucks to spend. I also plan to change all bearings this summer they are original. already have bearings. :yam:

I would be checking bushings in the a arms and the steering.

The shock revalve is a very noticeable upgrade. If all out top end is not a concern, a cobra track turns the sled into a different animal imo. If I had a grand to spend it would be to add the cobra with studs and do the revalve.

I love my 06 RTX with the 144" will never go back to a short apex. no studs needed with the longer track on the snow. The corba is a number 1 track for me nothing better.

Does it realy hook that much better?
I'm losing races now to 800 rush's and even 1200 doo's in 4 or 5 inches of snow even..ice...diff story.
I only weigh like 150.
I was thinking 136 but don't know if that would help that much..running ripsaw with 144 studs.

The hookup is great on soft, hardpack, fresh snow, ok on ice with 2-3" of loose snow. Its the best mod I have done.

X2. I was faster than a 09 800 Doo out of the hole and he had a clutch kit and V force reeds. This was on a good hard packed lake and he was set at full transfer. Later in the day we raced on a looser lake and it wasn't much of a race. You can really tell a difference when you switch back and forth between an Apex with one on and without.
