I've seen some guys here who have installed Xenons on their sled. Are these the real Xenons with their own electronics, or bulbs only? Does anyone have any links?

I have 55/60 watt xenon bulbs in my sled.. THEY ARE AWSOME!! and CHEAP!!

You can buy them on EBAY or at your local Car parts store!!

Just look on the package and look for a (H4) part number!!

Everyone i know thinks they are COOL and BRIGHT!!

Thanks. I'm all over that. I think the Yamahas have the best headlights stock, so if you can improve them still, I'm all for it.

I think I read a comparison in one of the magazines. They showed that a good stock bulb is just as good.

UNTIL YOU TRY ONE DONT LISTEN TO A MAGAZINE!!

I tried them back to back and the xenon hands down wins!!

Ok Mr. Negativity.... I have them and have tried them both... The magazine you read is so wrong.... Yamaha RX's have the brightest stock headlights and Xenons beat them hands down. Definately worth the money to go with a set. ;)!

I agree, once you use them you won't go back. ;)!

I just bought my first set at the big e show. I rode with these last year on a buddies sled (big diff!) I went with the bigger power though! It's a guy thing I'm sure! 65low beam 100 high beam. maybe that was the other way around? Hopin to See ya on the trails!! HONK

Honk, where did you get the lights? Also, I thought there was a certain level of power before you start frying things. Let me know how high a wattage you can go.

hey guy's, are these the new more blue lights on some of the newer cars ?
or is it just a brighter light ? I am looking for a blue lightbulb or something that looks like the headlights on those ritzy cars. :D

Its not exactly the same but pretty close...

You are only replacing the bulbs not the entire lens and housing!!

THEY LOOK AWSOME!!

My Xenon lights are tinted a slight red... You can get them in green, blue, clear and red....They are bright and look real good..... ;)!

I have been doing some research on these bulbs for my new truck and have found some interesting stuff. First off, the fancy lights you see on fancy cars like the Lexus LS400 are called HID lights and have special conversters that use less power to light the gas inside the bulb, these converters are called ballasts. That is the only way to get true HID, and the effect is reduced if you put an after market HID into a hologen housing due to what they call deflection. However, bulb companies like PIAA, Hella, and Sylvania have come out with some Hologen bulbs that give the HID look and incremental brightness than the traditional hologen bulbs that give off a yellowish tint. It is important to stick with wattage that is close to what is stock on your machine or car as higher wattage bulbs could burn up your wiring harness or explode and melt your housing, it has happened to a few people I have talked with. So if your stock lighting is 55W low and 65W high, I would suggest staying with that wattage. I just replaced my headlight bulbs with Sylvania Silverstars, they are much brighter and whiter than the traditional hologen light and even brighter than the cool blues they offer that throw off a blue tint to give it a HID look. I hope this helps some of you.

Peace!

oh, BTW, these lights are supposed to have a shorter life than the stock hologen but I had the Sylvania Cool Blues in my old Tahoe for 3 years without any issues.

I am personally going to try to find Silverstars for my new RX1

Here is a link to Sylvania
