Just wondering which tracks your using and why. What type of riding do you do, do you use studs. In the northeast I like a studded Ripsaw, although I may try an Ice ripper. I do mostly groomed trail, and lake, with an occasional field, I am very happy with my selection.

2 seasons and 5500 miles on my Ripsaw.....zero broken lugs. Awsome on my Warrior with 162 studs. I get the impression though, if you ride hard in a marginal snow areas on a regular basis, you might tear the tips of the lugs off. I ride pretty hard in Central Ont. conditions (runs the gammat from poor dirt & ice cond's to great packed trails & some deep stuff), and have had great experience with this track. I would buy it again, only get it with every window open and go to extrovert drivers. ;)!

have one on my sxr 500. its awsome. sled runs like its on rails especially with the viper skis and 6" carbides on the front. i do mostly trail runnin with powder playing as required. did not affect my top end on this sled but id did show me i had a centre to centre/alignment problem. i just know im gonna keep on loving it on the warrior as well.

ps: i dont run studs at all and i keep gettin bitched at that im runnin too fast by others in the group with studs. go figure :ORC

I didn't vote at all because the answer depends on application.

For groomed trail and packed snow I think it's hard to beat. I found it to be rock solid durable, quiet, light and fast, with great hookup on one of my last Ski-Doos. I ran it unstudded.

For diving off into the powder it fully and totally sucked. Period. Might as well be running an asphalt slick. There could not possibly be a WORSE track to run in powder.

Have I made my opinion known? I thought so.

when a rookie drove my sxr off trail with the ripsaw they buryd it every time when it was time to get moving again. anyone who grew up or is used to the old 1/2" paddle tracks never has a problem with it. experiance tells its tale as well.

i like the ripsaw, but installed an ice ripper last year on wifes vector and im sold on it.... enough extra umph for stopping/starting on ice, yet you can still slide it.... and it has fewer gaps in the lugs and seems to get better off trail performance than a standard ripsaw....

ice ripper all the way.... one is going on my attak this fall....

I have 4,000 miles on my Ripsaw. I ran it first with out studs. I find it to be the best track I have ever had. Great off trail, hard pack ect. Studded for safety on icy trails. Improved hole shot (96 studs). I believe this track would be hard to beat for the average trail rider. Just my 2 cents! :4STroke:

I'm completly satisfied with my ripsaw, i studded it before i rode it (168), and have close to 2000 miles on it, no damage to any studs or lugs, and i rode ALOT in very minimal snow conditions. There are better tracks out there but this one works for my riding style.........

I liked the 1.25" Ripsaw that came on my Nytro. But now I have it long-tracked with a 1.5" Ripsaw.

I know the Ripsaw sucks in the deep stuff. But I do pretty my 90% trail riding. So with a 136"x1.5" Ripsaw, it should go like a raped ape!!!!

IMHO: The early RX's and their tracks are fine for their intended purposes - trail riding. I'm happy with it for what I've gotten out of it so far.

Stupid fins on it - snow goes right through them. Plus, they fold over and break off. The original 03 track (that everybody unanimously declared a POS) was MUCH more durable, and was in far better condition by this many miles.

The Yokahamas were definitely a POS, fortunately the RX 1 never suffered from them. The early Camoplast was plenty durable, and when you pined the heck out of it, it would bite well on the trail. The ripsaw from what I have experienced so far has similar durability, and traction on the trail.

Ripsaw is a pos i dont have good luck with it,as this is my 5th track on my 06 now apex, but when it poops this one out,it will have the old stand by preditor 9837 studded of course,as is the ripsaw. :ORC
