i just accuired an 06 rtx we went for a long run last thursday every thing worked great except for wheels and slides chewed up the two inside wheels and therefore melted my slides so what are most of you apex owners doing, the updated larger yamaha wheels or excell or the drop mounts from pioneer or is there something else out there i`am missing. i`ve been sleding for twenty years and never felt an engine haul like this thing wow.

PP offset kit
With this kit in on 06 RTX and 11 SE, I can forget about replacing hyfax and have ridden lots of miles on marginal snow conditions

This is a common question asked and you'll find that both options will solve your problem. I personally have the pioneer mounts for my '06 rtx and they work great 3000 miles no slider wear. If I read your post right you said on your ride you chewed up two inner wheels. If this is true then you have to replace those wheels anyway, so the wheel replacement option might be the cheaper way to go. Do a search there is all kinds of info, and yes the motor is addictive!

Here's a good read on idler wheels
