Oh well, at least you agree on 6 of 8 points.

Sorry to burst you bubble yet again but the other 6 lost all credibility when you mentioned the other two.

Anything else? :dunno:
LOL......................

I will say for me going back to a two-stroke isn't all positives. The exhaust cloud and stench is not pleasent. After riding mostly 4-strokes for years, you really notice the exhaust smell on your clothes. I used to like that smell years ago. I don't anymore. I also turned up the oil pump on my RMK to feed it more oil as it was set from the factory to run at 80:1 and that is too lean for my comfort level. It smokes more now and twice I've come back in from rides with the exhaust taste in my mouth. It was gross! I'd take a lighter weight 4-stroke but the chassis has to handle better than what they currently offer and be much lighter. Maybe they will get there in '14?

Polaris Recalls Pro-RMKs
AmSnow Wed, Dec 19 2012 11:02 AM Comments 0
Polaris has voluntarily recalled 82 units that include 2013 800 and 600 Pro-RMK snowmobiles due to a potential loss of control, says the Consumer Product Safety Commisision.

According to the commission's website, the bolt attaching the front, lower left shock can fail and cause the operator to lose control of the vehicle. This poses a serious hazard of injury or death.

Polaris has received no reports of incidents or injuries.

Models affected by this recall are 2013 Polaris Pro-RMK 600 and 800 snowmobiles. The snowmobiles come in red, white and black. "Pro-RMK" is on the lower right and left sides of the hood. The engine size and the letters "ES" or the words "Limited Edition" are on the upper right and left sides of the hood. The numbers "155" or "163" are on the rear of the tunnel. "Polaris" appears on the sides of the seat. The model number and serial number can be found on the right hand side of the tunnel below the seat.

This recall includes the models listed below:

Model Name Model Number
600 PRO RMK 155
S13CG6GSA

800 PRO RMK 163
S13CH8GSA

800 PRO RMK 163 ES
S13CH8GSL

These snowmobiles were sold nationwide from August 2012 through October 2012 for between $10,800 and $12, 500.

The commission says riders should immediately stop using their snowmobile and contact their local Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners should already have been directly notified about this recall by mail.

More info: Contact Polaris at (888) 704-5290 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or visit the firm's website at www.polaris.com.

It hasn't been a good season for the owners of the Pro models. So far it's worked out good for me to have bought the plain jane, base model.

i must agree the lighter two strokes are easier to tow back at the end of the day thank god for those tanks :4STroke:

Recieved the same type of letter for my 09 XTX. Some type of burr in the threads not allwing a bolt to torque properly. We will all have issues. Be it human error or from machines making machines, there will always be error. Humans create the machine and parts wear out. My sled must have been one just before they replaced the die . Cheers, Scott

Agree, they all have issue but when some come on here saying other manu's sleds are more reliable/dependable than Yamahas, it makes me laugh

This Polaris recall is another for the same sleds. I know they are still behind, but seems they are creeping closer to Cat's reliability/dependability record? :dunno:

They all have there problems. Just saying there would be a huge market for a light nimble two stroke Yamaha. I know I'd love to see it and it would be one #*$&@ kicker. All you die hard four stroke guys need to realize how much better the two strokes have become in the past couple years and they don't smell near as bad as before with direct injection and new tec Yamaha could be number 1 again. Until they make something like the new freeride or assult with 160+ hp and weighing in around the 450lb mark get used to sticking to the groomed trails. And for all u nytro riders yea they are the best Yamaha came out with for off trail but still 150 lbs too heavy. I said it years ago and ill at it again the only chance they have is to do what they did with the 250 yz engine to the 450 yzf n turbo it from factory. But that will never happen. Anyways I will be on something new next year and it will be light nimble fast and easy to man over off trail sure dident sound like a Yammy to me.

I love Yamaha always did always will. But don't some of you guys think they made a mistake dropping the two stroke all together. Lets face the facts Yamaha sleds are the heavyest in the industry. They get stuck the most and they are all real tippy machines. I hate to say it but they are the hardest machine to handle off the trail and they can't compete with the new freeride or Polaris assult when it comes to off trail riding. I'm not trying to down Yamaha but they are a long way behind in the snowmobile market. I hope they wake up and build the lightest sled on the snow and make it have 165 hp with a two stroke. Nobody here can honestly say they don't miss the two strokes Yamaha used to make 10 years ago imagine what kind of engine they could make now

So what sled do you ride?
