Can anyone help shed any light on my latest issue? A little background, hit a deer about a year ago and was finally able to pick-up my sled this past Nov. sled had about 500 miles on it when it happened. All seemed good and I was able to put a few miles on but then the sled had to go back for jack-shaft update and the mech. forgot to tighten jam nut on chain case, trashed chain, gears etc. I fixed that this last weekend and put some miles on. Yesterday during a routine once over I noticed the hyfax was toast on the gear case side, to the point where I had to cut a slot in the bolt in order to remove it, and excellent shape on the clutch side with the bolt fully intact. What would cause such an extreme difference in the hyfax wear, deer hit, set-up wrong from the get-go etc…I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this. I have put a total of approx 300+/- miles since I picked-up the sled in Nov.

Bent slide rail check them both carefully. Also check that there isnt a bent track clip that cut the hyfax.

I have never seen wear like this on that part of the rail... in fact, the track should hardly touch there. My Hyfax have never worn in that area.

As others suggested, check for bent parts. Also, how was your track tension? Maybe you had it way too tight.

Thanks for the feed back guys, I will bring it back to the dealer when I get a chance but I have 0 doubt that the track settings where correct and I can't see any bent or broking parts. The deer did alot of damage to my sled and the dealer thought they had found everything but who knows.
