I just did the wiring for this today and wanted to get some opinions on if this is a good location to mount my Garmin 60CSX GPS.
I haven't drilled any holes yet. What do you think of this location, next to the guages on the right?
Any other options would be great.
Send me your pics of your mounts.

You might find some more options if you search in the GPS & Maps section. G.B.

Sounds like we have the same RAM mounts but different GPS units. This is exactly where I want to mount mine too.
How is it for vibration? Is there that much?
I like how you put your wire in from behind. I have mine just through the steering area.
Did you put a metal plate on the back side for reinforcement?

I mounted by Garmin GPS right off the steering post with a RAM mount, perfect spot for it.
Do a search in the GPS section, I'm sure there are pic's there of what I'm talking about.

I have no issues with vibration. My screen is small enough that it is a little tough to read while moving. I use my GPS mostly at intersections when stopped with the engine running and it worked great. No back up plate. I used the largest washers I could fit behind for mounting with stainless steel bolts and ss nylon insert lock nuts. I am really happy with my set up. G.B.

I have mine mounted right on the bar riser with a ram mount. It sits right over the bar pad..... works great.

Here is a much better location guys! It fits perfect right next to the Gauge cluster with a RAM mount. Here is mine I mounted a Vector, which I just sold. Very clean install. I plan on doing it on a Nyto I'm getting. I also got trail maps for Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnisota, Canada and New York for the Garmin GPS if anybody is interested. I got it from gpssledmaps.com. They charge $35.00 for their maps. Also got an almost new Sno Stuff exhaust that I plan on selling.

As you can see in my photo's I have the Ram mounts as well. However, I think that in my photo's it just looks too clustered. I am extremely impressed with your setup. It so basic and clean ! And the focal distance is also the same as the tach and digital display. I think yours is the winner and I will be mounting mine your way.
What did you do on the back part of it? Did you reinforce it with a metal plate or just use large washers. I guess you used the longer screws that came with the Ram mounting hardware. Can you send a photo of the back?
What is it like for vibration?
How much cable did you allow to be pulled out from the hole e.g. 6", 12" ?

No reinforcing just some washers. Dont have any other photos because I just sold the sled with this setup. Dont remember what size cable, just long enough to be zip tied to the wiring harness and down to a cigarette lighter plug, plugged into the battery tender plug. Worked pretty flawless. I plan on doing it on my next sled. I never want to try to read a paper map in the dark again.
