I'm looking to throw a set of aftermarket ski's on my '06 Apex er, what brand and model would you guys recommend and what kind of improvements in handling are you getting? Thanks, JoshSaxton97

More detail needed. What is your riding style, conditions, etc. also, what do you want out of new skis?

Your gonna get as many different answers as there are aftermarket skis. Chances are good you'll be more confused than when you started after reading what everyone feels is the best option out there.

I'm gonna be doing riding from groomed trails to un-groomed, to a little bit of powder riding, all pretty aggressively though.

X2 on what langow says, I ran C&As for years finally picked up a set of Sly Dogs for my Apex, all depends on what you are riding on and your riding style, we all can give you our opinions of what we have tried and true but ultimately it depends on you, I am hoping that my Sly Dogs will do the trick on my Apex. Check out the new Yamaha ski, I don't have part number but they look alot better than anything Yamaha has offered.langow said:

Top skis id recommend:
All around best trail ski IMHO is Simmons Gen 1's. Also float excellently when sled is moving. In bad crud or slop they can float on top and lose their bite. But carve great, track smooth, cure all darting.
Slydog Powderhounds are also great skis. They really excel off trail/ boondocking. These things really float. I have them on my MTX. Some guys also get these things to really rail on trail too, but in my experience if you ride really, really aggressively they will push. But that is with very aggressive riding.
C&A's- known to be the pre imminent race/ aggressive ski. All the snow cross guys use these. And for a reason- they rail. Tallest keel in the market, and most models have side keels too. And many models are getting really wide so they float really well too. C&A skis are heavy, tough, and durable. Downside: their great bite comes with a cost, which is heavy steering. But if you want to out corner your peers, C&A is ur brand. Check out the razors or XTX for your stated riding style. But be prepared for the shoulder workout, lol!

If you were only riding on groomed trails the arrow ski is the best trail ski out there, zero darting sled always runs straight,corners on rails, steering effort is not that bad no sore arms, the only down side is the ski should be wider for off trail riding, it's probably the worse ski out there for deep snow,
Look at yamaha new ski just like the arrow ski,
Betheviper had a whole write up on the arrow ski you can do a search on TY,
But everybody's riding style is different and there preferences are also different but I have used alot of skis and for strictly trail riding you can't beat the arrow ski, JMO
