I haul some wood with my apex and it does fine But it is NOT at home in the woods. Granted mine has a "small" 128x1" track it still needs space and momentum if the snow is soft. Once there is a track down it's no problem.
If I could afford two modern sleds the long track phazer or venture MP would be the ticket for this kind of thing. I'd love to find an old VK540 for hauling wood and packing the trails around our property.

like my 2014 xtx, great all around. just turned in he vector. stator after 3000 clicks wasnt impressed, but the miles were comfortable. the xtx is alot nimbler and i'm not as tired at the end of a long haul, dont have to work it as hard. but again i llike to go off trail too. then ive not driven one with power steering.
if ya go off trail make sure ya dont have the rip junk track. great for trails but you'll be stuck or trenching if ya go off.
