While snowmobiling today, I starting thinking about how great snowmobiling is in March. I put on 580 miles in the last 3 days around Central NY and North central NY. By this time of Winter we have plenty of snow, the sun actually comes out a few days, unlike Den. Jan. & Feb. when it hardly shines. The days are usually in the 20's and low 30's. With the sun, and a little warmth, and an occasional rain shower to settle the snow, the trails can really be groomed to perfection. Warmer days and cold nights really add up to smooth, fast flat trails. I don't think I had to lift my butt off the seat for a big bump in the last three days of riding. Central NY clubs near me have been doing a great job this Winter(Penn Mt., Lee Center, TC riders, Trackside, West Rome, Deerfield, Southern Tug Hill). My hat off to all these clubs for great trails. Probably only a couple weeks of riding left, but year in and year out, March has some of the best riding in my estimation.
