Is it me, or are some of these types made to float, and some more to dig to correct the darting? Some seem real wide, and more or less float compared to the ski's like the C&A's. If this is so, what is your experiences with these different styles?
I have 200 miles on my SE with Razors, 10inch carbides. She steers pretty darn heavy, but she turns. Felt like I had a knife stuck between my shoulder blades after the first ride, but I didn't end up stuck to a tree like my 08 did last year. Very little push unless your on the gas. I can't really say how well they float, I have never played too much in the deep stuff. I ran 9 inch shapers on the stock skiis last year on the 08, I know it's not apples but to apples, but I am much happier so far with the 09 on razors. Very little push, no darting, yes no darting. Like I said, steers pretty heavy, but I am running a lot of ski pressure, going to start backing that off a bit this weekend. After several adjustments so far, i am pretty confident I will be able to find a happy spot somewhere in the middle. This thing will take a little while to completely figure out. Almost too many knobs to turn. I don't think, well I know I'm not capable of pushing this SE to it's limits. At least with my X package I felt I could approach the limits of what that could do. You'd have to be almost a pro to really push this SE. Nice job Yamaha, this is one serious machine.
