Who here wears a Snocross helmet and goggles?

Adrenelin Junkey that looks like a GREAT set-up! How is it at night with the tinted goggles? Do you switch at night to clear ones? I'm really leaning towards the open face set-up but I'm worried about night time riding. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I only got to use it on a couple rides last year none at night but cant see much difference between the tinted set in the pic and the ones i used at night last year. time will tell but so far I did use them on a night dirt biking cause i just couldn't wait and I'm not anticipating any problems with it but if i do one cant have to many sets of goggles and thanks I started with a modular and i was always running it with the shield cracked to prevent fogging. I will never go back

Nice option with the Pro-Vue I mentioned earlier is that they come with a set of different colored tinted lenses you can change out over your standard lens. I found that yellow lenses do a good job at cutting glare during the day, but could still be worn safely at night. The dark tint could be worn day only. Either way an easy swap you can just put in your pocket.

i am planning on spending the money for light sensative goggles this year dark in sun blue at night!! switch themselves.

HJC and Smith goggles .I have the factory breath deflector on the HJC works great with a balaclava . Remember to get a good balaclava no cotton ones. If I'm in the back of the pack , snow dust fills my ear pockets of the helmet.

I must be an absolute wuss. I wore my FOX MX helmet a few times with Oakley goggles and I couldn't stand it. Sure the vision was great, but I was way too cold (NOTE: I hate the cold). So I switched up and went with the Arctic Cat Txi 330 all black. To me it is a nice compromise because it feels like you have goggles...and I have never once frosted up.

hjc with some scott otg goggles,i used to run oakleys but the otg's cover so much better

I gotta agree with the OTG's....I actually bought them by mistake and didn't realize they were OTG until my buddy asked them why they covered my face better than his did.

The OTG's have an extra layer of foam that gets the sides of the face where the air hits. Anything warmer than -10C and I will wear my open face, other than that it's full face for me.

I have a fly 606 and Oakley wisdom goggles. Love it. Love it so much that I sold my chrome modular to a fellow TYer. Very important is what you wear under it

I second the Fly 606 II with Oakley Wisdom goggles with Quik Straps.

Have used this set up for two seasons after retiring my AFX and Scott Turbo Goggles with Quik Straps (Scotts are my back up goggles now). I also use a PSolar HX Balacava. The PSolar HX is the best damn balaclava I have ever used (out af about 5 different brands I have tried. I have ridden in -25 F temps with this balaclava and my breath deflector and never been cold.

One thing to add though. If any of you go with Oakley Wisdoms; get the helmet strap with them.

I use a HJC with Smith snow warp goggles, they fit the helmet perfect. I get zero wind, we rode last year in -25 with no problem. I use HJC's breath deflector,it seals up to the goggles perfectly.

Why the quick straps with the wisdom goggles? I am also looking for a Thor force carbon fibre helemt? Where do you get that balaclava??

I use the quick straps just for the ease of switching out to my Scott Turbos for different light conditions. I had the Quick straps on the Scotts and my AFX before I ever bought the Wisdoms. The platic tab interfered with the stap on the Wisdoms so I cut the strap on the Wisdoms to fit quick straps and melted the end to prevent the strap from fraying.

The quick straps also alow me easy access if I'm riding with sun glasses on. I just remove the Oakley Straight Jackets and reach up to release the velcro tab for the Wisdom goggles which are wrapped around the back of the helmet and ready for use if a storm comes in. No fumbeling through my gear for the goggles this way. ;)!

The Psolar HX can be bought here; http://www.psolar.com/

Edit; why are you switching helmets? I like my Fly for fit with the Wisdom goggles especially after finding out Oakley made a different strap for a better fit with helmets.

BlgsRx I just ordered my Plolar HX Balaclava based on your advise! It does look amazing I must say! I never wore any face protection until I purchased a Apex RTX, that sled is very cold compared to my old Srx. I even purchased the bigger windshield and I still got frost bite last winter. I figure if I get the Balaclava first I can size a new MX style Helmet with the Balaclava on so I get a PERFECT fit. Thanks for the advice!!

KBC motocross super-x helmet, "gunslinger" and Smith snow warp goggles with nose piece and snow shield. I used to wear a kbc full face but got tired of the inevitable sunburn and the shield distortion. This kbc helmet is very light and makes a good match with the smiths, sealing well even on -30C, 80mph+ nights with a helly hanson bellaclava.
