Who makes a good balaclava for open face helmets?

I am trying to find a good balaclava for my open face helmet which is an HJC and I wear a pair of Yamaha's goggles.

Everything I have tried is either to light and lets air through or does not have a small enough closer around the face and leaves exposed skin.

Just wondering what you use and what works?

I use a thin balacava and a nofog mask over works great never had frost bite.

I use the no-fog mask that yamaha offers ... I think it is neopreen (spelling?), not thin at all! It hooks over the top of your head and around the back of the head ...

I have no problem of any exposed skin.

Klim makes a good one with windstopper material on the front of the balaclava.

i use an arctiva balaclava i love it it has windstopper and i also carry a hjc breath box that i can velcro in when it gets really cold

I use the breath box. Ya like they said klim and arctiva make awsome balaclavas. I will be trying the arctiva one this year.

I have the Yamaha one and it works very well,and doesn't move around.

I've got a regular No-Fog that I took to a local shop and had them sew on wind-proof fleece around the bottom because it didn't come down far enough in the front. Then I have a "Wind-Stopper" fleece cap on top. No wind, no cold, works great.
The part I like the most is being able to take off my helmet and mask and still have a hat, instead of wearing a balaclava into the restaraunt, etc.

The thinner the better, a thick one will make the helmet very tight. I've used a MX helmet on and off for 4 years and I only got frostbite once (-18*f).
If it gets really cold, desperate times take desperate measures, put a little duct tape on the bridge of your nose and your cheeks.

Ive got several Yamaha baclavias and I cant complain about them.
It sounds like what you really should be looking at is either getting a breathguard for your helmet or getting a No-Fog mask.

Have been riding with a Klim for a couple years now, even at Sub 0 with an open face helmet.

Vote #4 for Klim

X4 for the Klim balaclava for the Windstopper material and moisture wicking capabilities.

If not Klim, the RUOutside brand generally puts out top notch products.

As far as ones made out of neoprene, I am sure they have great warmth and windproof factors but I am not sure of the moisture wicking capabilities of the neoprene material.

I just picked up an awesome balaclava made by UNWIND ! It's similar to the Klim in that it covers your chest and back, and it's contoured for your shoulders, but it also has vents for your nose and mouth, plus it is specifically shaped to cover your nose well so you don't need a nose piece attached to your goggles. I tried it out on Tuesday in -10C and it worked great, I highly recommend it !
