I bought the new sled, and needed a new center skid shock. Bought one from a guy on here but it's slightly shorter at 11 3/4 eye to eye where i need a 13 eye to eye. I thought the part numbers matched but they didn't. I am going to use the shaft out of the shock i bought as it's the same as the one that is broken i would just like to find a new body for the original. So are they fox made or kyb etc.

Thanks Caleb

Whoever makes the shock parts for fox makes these. Most parts interchange. Think Arctic Cat ACT shocks of past. Same thing.

I will give the part numbers to my suspension guy and see if he can find me a body.

Cat and yammi sell the complete body, shaft etc. I just want the body it's self but you are saying i cant buy just that piece? I know you are the site suspension guru and my guy wouldn't know much about parts for this shock. He would just call his guy at fox and give him the number off the shock and if it was a fox part they would send us a new one.

so here's my other question, the shock i have on it now is 11 3/4" eye to eye. being shorter it would hurt the handling as well as potentially bottom out?

Fox won't be able to help you. If you put the shorter shaft in your shock body it's just limiting travel. A center track shock won't survive that long since the limiter straps should be doing that job. So depending on what you have your limiters at it may or may not affect anything.
