WHO'LL HAVE EFI CHIP FIRST ???

Lazy bastard answr the question for me alittle while ago in another tread here>>> this is how it went and I do believe him>>Unlike cars, these sleds are not detuned. The reason why you can change chips in a car is that the auto makers use the same exact engine to make several different amounts of power, electronically detuning the ones that are to be weaker. 4.3 chevy makes 170, 180, or 190 hp depending on the chip (pretty pathetic for a 4.3, eh?)

Look at it this way. a bone stock f7 runs 5.9 in 500 feet.

Glen halls f7 witha CDI and efi change will run 5.3 in that distance. WHat's even cooler about the Apex is it will be user friendly on the trail!!!!

I'm betting 165 HP

stock F7 has some really rich EFI settings thought.

I can see gains, but unless you get into the timing, I would doubt allot of change. Like saying you can get 10hp from jetting a stock RX1 with the Airbox.

RX-Dave: this would be a Timing and Fuel increase. There is a guy that owns a performance Company I talk to a lot. He has raced the F7 "professionally". He says he can get 165 out of the new Apex motor with these mods and it would be trail safe!!!!!

Even with a powercommander on a R1, I dont think they can tune the timing curve. They can whack away at the Fuel, but not the timing.

I just look at things with a grain of salt.
