I have owned 5 Yamahas and 1 Cat. All New out of the crate. Have had quality issues with all of them. I still have my 2000 SRX 835 Big bore, and my 2004 Viper S. Sold my 2003 F7 because i couldn't refuse the offer of $4100.00 for it this fall. F7 was a fun sled, most new sleds have a few hickups at the start but I also had issues with my 2006 Apex GT with the damm ohlins shock, hyfax, idler wheels and and engine out of line from factory. So let's give this sled a try before all the negative remarks. I'm spring ordering one and can't wait. I have tried the Procross and like the ride. With Yamaha input how bad can it be. Price isn't that bad. :die

Don't get me wrong, I was a little dassapointed with the fact it wasn't all Yamaha, I love the thought of a Yamaha built by Yamaha, but let's put the best of both together and see what we get.

couldnt agree more.... i am relatively new to snowmobiling and have only been in for 8 yrs came back to yamaha because i liked the reliability but knew it wasnt going to be same ride as my doo but was willing to take that trade anyday..... why not take somthing good and put the reliability into it... makes sense to me and IMO worth at least a test ride

give it all of next season, and we will see how many recalls and issues there are, i got two buddies with last years turbo cats middle of last season they were told, there is no fix for reverse dont use it,and Then one of them cooked a turbo, this past summer the dealer had both sleds they said they were good to go, both went back after the first ride for reverse not working, i understand issues with first year sleds, i had a 08 nytro, that i fix many a teething problem on, but it never left me stranded or ruined my vacation, those arctic cats i think are built to get people in the dealerships, cuz they keep going back, real yamahas never go back

I think the biggest concern for many including me is worried about the materials, craftmenship and QC that is lacking with AC. Those sleds do leave you hanging. Seen it first hand. WE just want assurance from Yamaha that these issues will not come across to the yamaha product line.

I think we all accept the handling quirks and such. However they are all fixable and the sled never leaves you out in the bush. WE just wont accept reliability issues, broken drive shafts, bad chain cases, reverse that does not work, poor fuel mapping etc. These are issues that the aftermarket just cant address. The aftermarket adresses Yamaha's issues to make a reliable sled a good handling and ergonomic sled.

Why....because its a desposable sled.....when its out of warranty you will have to get rid of it like any other cat.

It's funny, the only time we bad mouth our competition was for there lack of engine reliability. Nobody complained about there ride comfort. And now we have an engine and a sled frame that can handle what Yamaha riders wanted for years. Why are we complaining? For all the sceptics, wait and see.

Nothing wrong with that motor being 7 years old, bullet proof. As far as 1100 turbo, remember that ins't Yamaha. Anytime you boost an engine you are going to have failure. As far as the reverse, I have a group of guys that have the ACT Procross sleds and have not have the issues that a lot of guys are having. All sleds including our previous Yamahas have have issues.
The boosted 1100 isnt the problem, its everything else. The 1100 holds up better to boost than the Nytro engine, why? because it was designed for it. The Nytro engine was designed to be NA from day one. Look at a mountain forum and you will see where all the problems lie.........

X2
Viper will be a nice sled for tons of fun, and I want to ride one too.
Living in the new world economy.
Yamaha R&D had 6+ years to be working on something bigger.
Unless their budget got cut to nothing. What happened to the old Yamaha that would stun everyone with a game changer.
Vmax 4 anyone?
What we have here is a 1.5 year throw together.
In more time maybe Yamaha still has something in the works.
Maybe?

I like the idea of a good engine in a AC Body.

Only reason I would buy an Arctic Cat is if had a Yamaha motor---yay, now it does.

Only reason I would buy an older Ford Taurus SHO is because it had a Yamaha Engine. You can hate the idea of those older Ford Tauruses, but once it's got a better motor, everything changes.

Never did like Arctic Cat, but now that they have a good engine---game on.

Why are we complaining.....beacause we could have bought the same sled two years ago with the option of 40 more horesepower or significantly less weight and 30 more horsepower. Once again the Zook motors were never the problem it was everyting else around them. This merger came out of desperation, the Nytro is/was a turd that never really was never competitive at anything and Yamaha couldnt sell, and Cat was desperate for engines, plain and simple.

Wow, you are hurting, I would suggest going to Polaris or ski doo if you can do better. Try the sled before complaining so much. I have had Cat and Yamy. All have there issues. F7 was one of my best. Ever with the recalls. The only difference was ACT let you know when there was a problem. My dealer that is. Great Guys!!
