Wondering if they are somthing I should be looking at?
Let us know in what conditions you do most of your riding?
Thanks milkman
I hear ya.....I HATED the Doo Skis on my REV. They darted like crazy and sucked in the loose fluffy stuff. I will however, trust LB and Suisse on this one though. They seem to echo what i have always heard....the DOO skis are NOT the same as the Simmons. I will be trying them this year.

Keep in mind that there is no perfect cure for darting. Its the nature of driving in a rutted track. Something that you can do to help is to add shims under the ski rubber to shift pressure from the front of the ski to the back, this will allow the ski to ride up the ruts more easily rather than be pulled in.

Yes sir LBs words are golden, the shim is important
I ride alot with 2 other guys that also have simmons, so they can follow grooves too. I dont think it is all that bad

Ya, the darting is bad on the REV with a set of flex skis (other doo skis), but it will turn. The precisions just don't turn in the corners, even if the corners get chewed up even a little. They are garbage. I had the Flex skis and it darted like crazy, but I sucked it up and drove it like that anyways, because I did not want to spend any more money on skis. But, I heard the best stock manufacture skis are Cat skis. My buddy has a 2002 Viper and I liked the skis on it and it seemed to handle well and did not dart much at all. Are these skis the same as what are coming on the Apex?RTX Meirda said:I have a buddy with a Rev. He spends alot of time on dootalk. Everyone says precisions are garbage. He bought a set of single runner ski doo skis.
He does not like them at all....he put the precisions back on.
The darting was driving him crazy.
The precisions did not have alot of bite in the corners in loose snow....but they did not dart!

Another thing that can cause darting, or, lets call it pseudo-darting since its not about the ruts, is alignment. Most sleds are toed-out pretty far, but simmons skis need to be aligned perfectly parallel. They handle crazy if they're not.

I saw an earlier post here about the Bergstrom triple carbides. The taller one in the center, and are proclaimed to be self sharpening. Anybody use these? How do they perform for the price?

I have been using Bergstrom products for about 15 yrs. I ran a set of his triple carbide runners last yr. on CA 7" Pro's. 1400 miles, many on way less than perfect conditions, still have at least 90% of the carbide left. The darting fix that many talk about here was directly from Scott Bergstrom. He includes a set of shims with every ski purchase. I live very close to his shop. Last season I was getting ready to head up to Muni for the TY ride and he GAVE me a bag of approx. 50 shims and screws for everyone to try. You WILL NOT find a better person in the industry than Scott. Always willing to help, and he 100% backs his products. I had a stud pull off during installation ( impact gun, my own fault) Ran to his shop to purchase a new bar. He says, " No problem, I'll just weld it back on for ya'" I didn't bring it with. GIVES me a new bar and says to drop the other off when I am in the neighborhood. Try to get that kind of help ANYWHERE in the industry . Ok, I will get off my soapbox. Try his stuff, you'll never use anything else.
