My stock RX1 was real tippy. Pulling it around on hills (when suck) it would roll and the thing was real top heavy handling. All at once, I spent some bucks and got rid of 85lbs. The mods included holtz lightweight a-arms that widen the stance. I've removed the sway bar and with the reduced weight I can carve side hills and maneuver the sled like never before. I am wondering that now with a lighter sled I could go back to a narrow ski stance (MPI), get improve maneuverability. I'm just worried about loosing the stability. Any experience out there? Wide or narrow on a lightenned mtn sled?

I lightened my 03 and put the wider frontend on. I am going to try the same and narrow the ski stance next year. with the wider front end it seemed stabler on the side hill but I didn't think it would turn uphill or boondock as easy.

I've always preferred a narrow stance just for manuverability in tight trees and easier sidehilling.

MPI does, I have them on my sled after hitting a rock last New Years. The bolts for the spindle housing are hidden for a cleaner look.

BlgsRX- How much weight did the MPI front actually save? Were you happy with the quality of them?

They claim over seven pounds, but I didn't weigh them. They are definately lighter though. As far as quality so far they are doing great. I have about 450 miles on them (Haven't hit a rock with them) and no problems.
Edit; between the A-arms, Rear Trans. Enhancement, dry cell battery, higher/wider bars, QC-1 exhaust and tool box removal. The wife is beginning to like the beast and says I should let her have the '03 and just order me a new one next year.

THE WIDER A-ARMS (EVEN THE OEM YAMI WARRIOR PARTS) HELPED MY SLED HANDLE TOTALLY AWESOME. A "MUST HAVE" MOD.
