my 06 apex has had a weird hot start issue always having to give it throttle to start and a unstable idle, cold start great but once hot it could drop to a 1000rpm or stay a little higher at 1700 and once in awhile stay at 1500rpm.
one issue i noticed is that the fuel tank check valve would almost drain back immediatly at shut off.
and on the idle adjusting screw there is a small o-ring it was torn.
i replaced the check valve and the adjusting screw, started right up perfectly yesterday idled down to 1500 took it for a 25 k run perfect everytime, hot restart was good hopefully thats all that was wrong

How did you check the valve?

Good and brave move, seems to have fixed the issue.
Is that o-ring part no. 41 in this link?
I say brave because sometimes adjusting anything in the fuel rail other than idle rpm can cause huge tuning issues

the adjusting screw was a bit of a fluke find, I knocked the plastic knob off checking other things, when i went to replace it found the torn o-ring

hey Blue er I have that exact same problem. when you removed your idle screw did you count the number of turns needed to match the replacement knob? did you get these parts from the dealer and how much did you pay.
I will order these parts Monday cause its annoying and potentially ruin your battery/starter and your whole trip/

I have the weird idle issue too. Fine when engine is cold but when gets warm idles down to 1000rpm, if I ever so slightly tap the throttle it sometimes goes back to idling at 1500rpm but this is rare. If I only let it idle for a small amount of time after coming to a stop it stays at 1500rpm, after about 15 seconds goes down to 1000rpm. Don't have any issue with warm starts though.

both parts were just over 100 bones from the dealer, i counted the turns out and replaced the screw same amount of turns in, after letting sled warm up (10 minutes) readjusted idle rpm to 1500rpmpetrocfanada said:hey Blue er I have that exact same problem. when you removed your idle screw did you count the number of turns needed to match the replacement knob? did you get these parts from the dealer and how much did you pay.
