Im extending my 06 RTX. I have 2 tracks, a 1.25 144 ripsaw and a 1.75 144 backcountry. My question is what will I need to do to make the 1.75 fit my sled? One of the tracks will be for sale as soon as I decide which one I am going to use.

I did a 121-144 extension on my buddies 40th apex. All I had to do was remove the tunnel protetors and the protectors on the front heat exchanger..After that there was enough clearance all around for the 1.75 backcountry track...Do a search for phazernut...this is the guys sled..Craig has since moved on and bought a turbo cat and sold the 40th..

Yup, you have to remove the front exchanger guards. My 1.5 just barely fits with them in. Or you could go to smaller drivers

Looks good! this is exactly what I am looking to do to mine in the off season, was it a PIA to make the 1.75 fit? Did you change the drivers, or only remove the tunnel and Heat Exchanger protectors?
Also for the 7" Powder hounds how do you like them? Think the 8" are overkill, unless a true mountain sled?

I only removed the tunnel protectors really wasn't anymore difficult than changing a track beside a few minutes with a cutoff wheel. By far the best thing I've done to the sled. I can actually hook up now. The traction I gained alone was well worth the money not to mention it going to float better in the deep stuff especially with the 7" powder hounds I put on.
