I see videos of doo's and cats riding up on top of the water .Anyone done that with their RX-1??Or would it sink like a rock?
Also similar question I thought of today after trying to go out across my field on the fourwheeler and getting it stuck in 2 feet of snow .I'm thinking this sure would suck on a snowmobile. And I have read quite a few posts about the RX-1's being heavy and getting stuck real easy in powder snow one post said only 14".So how bad is it?Is it just a lake a groomed trail machine or can it put up with some exploring and breaking new trails ? Or am I going to be stuck everytime I stop?I see that they use them as mountain sleds and there is lots of snow there but are they moded up quite a bit or what's the story ? I walked down to the end of my field today and there was a drift that was 6-8' deep sure would suck to be stuck in that!

In watercross racing - they are sometimes used for drag racing - but they don't run the oval races on water. Nearly every heat a watercrosser sinks a sled during the ovals. A 2-stroke is easy to revive - they have have them back running 5-10 mins after being pulled out of the drink. It would take the 4-strokers quite a bit more time to clear out.

It took 3 feet of fresh powder for me to get my dads 04 rx warrior stuck! And beleive me I was STUCK... took three people to get it out. The back of the seat was lower than the bottom of the ski.

I have ridden mine for 2 seasons and only got stuck once when I stoped on a sloap and tried to take off later up the hill in 3 feet of snow... One of my buddys pulled on a ski loop and I gave it gas and it came right out.... they are not that much heavier than any other sled. The weight difference between an rx-1 and a fusion 900 was only 25-30lbs and thats what a 1/2 tank of gas weighs. so if you can get a 2 stroke full of gas out of a hole you can get an rx-1 with 1/2 a tank out fairly easily... I have also crossed long sections of open water in the past with my rx and had no problems... They are just like any other sled but slightly heavier and much torqier!!!!

If its in that bad, dig out the snow BESIDE it (**right side, NOT left**), roll it into the new hole, pat down the snow under where it WAS, and roll it back.

I agree. did it twice this week.

WE actually have 3 feet of powder in Vermont...!

One storm saved our #*$&@!

We need more now....Pray!

They float just like a boat....at 50 mph. Its actually quit a rush the first couple of times you do it. I was so nervous the first time I sat back waaay toooo far and hammered it. I really thought I was going to go over backwards. No problem crossing any amount of water. Of course just dont stop.

Any sled is heavy after a good amount of riding. Figure out how much ice and snow get caught up in the skid alone. They are all heavy and they all will get stuck. Dont get stuck and you will be fine!! ;)!

is that right, while sitting on the seat, or looking at the sled. and why not left ?
