looking for a new to me trailer for my new XTX. Currently I’m running an open with salt shield setup. Looking for a clam shell but wasn’t sure if I can stay with the standard 10’ or have to move up to a 12’.

I'm thinking you need the 12 ft . the xtx is listed as 125 in length .

Depends on year and trim model, ltx and xtx share the same length tunnel, just different skid mounting holes, 15 xtx le came with a mtx 153" length tunnel which is 5" longer than standard xtx

My sled is a 17 XTX se . It’s definitely not a 153 tunnel, as I struggled with fuel / storage placement.

Hi Ross, I have a picture of my new 17 XTX SE (that was taken to show the Powderkeg fuel+storage system I bought) that shows how it looks in my 12' drop door trailer... It sure looks like a 10' trailer would come up short for our sleds.

Let me know if you want more pictures or measurements.

I went with a whiteout technologies bracket and a jerry can plus a set of saddle bags for long trips in Canada. I personally didn’t care for the powder keg look but everyone has there style.

Hey Ross, I have a 14 xtx and the only way it fit in my buddies 10ft trailer with a clamshell was to turn it kitty-corner and even then it was a tight fit if you don't want the rear bumper rubbing on the back door.

Yes a 12' would be much better, plus with 2 sleds inside you will have a little room for your spare,A jack and some gear

Thanks guys, yeah probably won’t go the enclosed route this season unless a spectacular deal shows up. Just really wanted to know where to start looking.

I have both an LTX and a 15 LTX-LE with the long tunnel. I can tell you you are going to want a 12' clamshell. I had an open 10' trailer when I bought the LTX, and moved up to the 12' before I bought the XTX. You'll have to hang the skis off the front in a 10'. In a 12', even the longer tunnel lengths fit well.
