Putting spikes in the track will cause it to tighten up. This means that it will have FURTHER to stretch out when you finally drive it.Blue Oval said:What's up guys? I'm studding my 07 RTX this Monday with 144 1.450 Mack studs. Upon checking the track tension before and after the stud intall should I be too concerned about the track stretching? The reason I ask is that I'm planning on going up to Presque Isle Me. on Friday the 19th for four days for it's maiden voyage. I will have no snow to ride on prior to this trip and this will be the sleds break-in time! Should I even stud the machine or wait till it's broken in???
Where are you going to put them if you cut the windows out? And more importantly, WHY?Another concern will probably be less than favorable conditions which I'm sure will lead to hyfax wear and idler wear. I'm wondering if I should cut every third window out now or wait and order the SLP wear pads. Can the SLP pads still be used if you cut out the windows???
In the winter, most gas you buy will be about 10% ethyl alcohol (aka gas line antifreeze). Don't see a reason you'd want to add more, but you can if you like.Does anyone use gas line anti-freeze on these sleds? I assume you can use a regular auto gas line product, correct? Again I wish I had some ride time prior to this trip around my home here but I really have no choice other than to leave the Apex home and take my smelly Polaris up there. I'd hate to do more damage than neccesary to the Apex. Thanks for any responses.
