I rode an RTX this past weekend and I was almost content. The power and ride was awesome, but the coldness factor sucked. I usually don't get cold when riding my RX-1 (even in single digit temps) and do not usually have a helmet fogging problem. Riding the RTX, however, was colder and my shield on my helmet consistently fogged up. I also tried a couple different pairs of gloves, but still had cold hands. What do you guys recommend to resolve these issues? I really like the looks of the stock low windscreen and don't want to make the sled look uglier. I don't want to be uncomfortable when riding, though. What windshields and or handguards do you recommend?

If you are going to buy this sled I would recommend the following items for you. If the sled is an 06 then put an 07 handlebar wiring harness in it. If it is an 07, put 06 handlebars on it. If you want more hand protection get yourself a set of Skinz trail version of handguards. Get yourself a med, solid black windshield for the cold days.

It does have updated bars or whatever they did to address the original heating/handlebar issue. I couldn't tell from the website, but do you have to have a set of plastic handguards already on the handlebars and install the skinz over them or are they stand alone?

got my windshield from the yamaha catalog, they have a few choices,i put on the mid height shield it looks good and keeps the wind off ya! ;)!

I went with the short windshield on my Attak and added Power Madd hand guards. For the really cold days, I put the Skinz right over the Power Madds (they velcro on & off). I dress for the cold and use an electric shield and have NO problemo ;)!
