Dielectriced Greased all the connectors and now no power other than starter. Anyone have a wiring diagram? Do yours crank over even with the kill switch on off. Mine does. Is that normal? Bummed. Lot of work trying to do right thing.

No, not normal with the kill switch off. I am sure it is simple. I would go back to every connector and make sure there is not one either mis-connected or possibly a pin that got pushed out. Never know with the blend of cat quality. Let know if you need me to compare or simulate something on mine....
Would be nice to do pin tests right about now. I have no power at any of the pins at the main plug that goes to hood. No bad fuses but power to all of them except headlight. Appreciate the help Apex.

I was going to put dielectric grease on mine, but not so sure now I'll be watching this thread for updates.

Traveling today so not near the sled. My son said he did that on his truck to a main wiring cord and then had the same problem. He could not understand it either. He blew off the connector with air and cleaned the pins and then it worked fine. Weird, but I bet it turns out to be something simple like that. I will check back when I get back the evening.cannondale27 said:Would be nice to do pin tests right about now. I have no power at any of the pins at the main plug that goes to hood. Yes recheck all the connections they don't want to plug in all the way , at lest mine didn't want to , the nod that plugs the hood in was a bitch to make I lock , once you put the grease on it makes it harder to plug back together !
Yea crap. I usually like to break them while playing with them. I have checked and double checked all the connections. Now starting the process of testing the pins from one end to other.
Could someone check to see if sled still cranks over with kill switch in off position? Thanks

First thing the dealer told me when I picked my Viper up was unlike other Yamaha's it will crank when kill switch is pushed/off.cannondale27 said:Could someone check to see if sled still cranks over with kill switch in off position? Thanks
Thanks Canadian! One less thing to worry about. Will have to remember that.
