Its all cyclical some years will be good and some won't. Lucky here to a certain degrees. We're pretty steady here. We've never had a winter where we couldn't ride. Every year by January you're pretty much guranteed to be able to ride. Some years are warm some years are cold just depends on the ocean currents. This winter was warm but still got lots of snow. Did my last ride on Monday. In ready for spring to come would be more then happy to put the sled away for summer.
Picture I took today 20 miles
From home. Was kind of a miserable morning here snow and wind.

Snake on snake violence is permittedGlad to see you're cancer free! That scare can make you realize ''do what makes you happy'' even if it's only for one weekend a year. If Hell freezes over, I'll ride with you there and run the Devil over with my new Sidewinder!
Hi everyone,
I need some reassurance. I'm worried about the future of snowmobiling due to "global warming ". I bought a new 14 nytro xtx last year, love it but am stressed sled seasons will be shorter and shorter each year. Should I get out asap and buy a SxS? Or should I hang in there and keep my sled?
I got 3500+ on this year... Every trip I paid to stay... If I didn't put a mile on this season I'd be buying an new YZX just from the money I would have saved!!!

Thanks Fellas,
You are all 100% Right! There is just nothing like sledding, do what makes you happy is the way to be. Went into my garage, just sat on my nytro, had a cold beer, read your posts, started shopping for a turbo for next year! Appreciate the motivation!!

I remember hearing in the fall that this was going to be a wet and mild winter due to the El Niño effect, they were right about that one. An older guy I sometimes sled with, mentioned that in the mid 70's there was a similar winter...even worse than this one. I wouldn't worry too much.

I put 900 miles on just in southern MN from pretty much 2 larger snowfalls, was planning to go to the UP but that ended up falling through.
I know that it doesn't sound like a lot to some of you but Im lucky to get more the 1000 miles on in a season so I think I did alright.

Not here in ny, but 81 AND 82 sucked for the industry, gas was high snow was low and people got out. We dumped our sleds and it was a long time before I came back. I do believe we don't get near the levels of snow we did when I was a kid, we used to dig snow tunnels in the banks right thru the front yard. My kids have never seen snow in the yard past their waists

Global warming is old school and dead, its now called climate change because the earth is not warming up as predicted. El Nino screwed with us this year but last two years where record in snow depth and length respectively. I've never seen a winter yet that I couldn't ride so Id say if your worried buy a trailer and go where ever the snow is.
