Viperdave - It was not you and I would lend out a sled to you whenever you needed one brother. The trust you and I have for each other is golden.
This trust goes beyond lending sleds out also. Dave's sled broke down in Canada with a chaincase bearing failing on him and because of the good people and friends, we trailered the sled to a members house and repaired the sled for Dave and wouldn't let him touch his sled. That is what good friends do for each other is help out when needed. Right buddy!

There are very few people (I can think of 2) who I would lend my sled to. I paid too much of my hard earned money for it to take the chance on it getting busted up. I will trade it with guys who I ride with so they can have Yamaha 4-Stroke experiance but thats about it.

well betsy is usually the loaner around here. hard to get into trouble with 408cc.
rule around here is you break it, you fix it or replace it. usually only loan to family or close freinds that know how to sled already. nobody gets my war without me being very close by.
this year we are bringing a spare to muni as we had some damage issues last year. watch this, ill blow up and end up on dad's venture. i will not loan dad's at all but the war can be negotiated if a fellow ty'r is in need. snowcrosser save our trip last season and i still owe that man a beer.

hey chris can I borrow your phazer??? LOLSuperman said:It would be a case by case scenario for me. One thing I would look for is how does a person take care of their own sled? Kind of like that old Seinfeld episode were Elaine is screening her dates by asking herself if a guy is "sponge worthy" LOL.

You let your sister in law go with Frog? Man sleds one thing but you may never see sleds or her again. LOL

I only lend my sled to best friends with sledding experience. I also lay down the handling differences between my Nytro and their old trailing arm sleds. They have no problem with me borrowing theirs, if I can't get to mine, because regardless of who wrecks it, I have to fix it. lol
I had to fix my friend's wife's sled, because SHE hit a tree. Told friend what parts were needed, he bought them, I fixed it. It's been ridden once in 3 years since, due to them not having time. I had to get my other friends' sleds running a couple years ago, to get ridden once then sold; go figure.

Yes, to a good friend or family member whom I can trust. But I would be uncomfortable lending to someone and letting them go riding with others or alone! Funny thing is that when you lend something, the chances of it getting broken rises exponentially!
It sure seems like you have been blessed as I have been and it would be difficult not to share that.
all the best,

I started into this sport using a buddies older sled for almost two years, when I told him I was getting my own he was pissed thinking his old one wasn't good enough for me anymore. Real friends are far and few between when you find one you need to hang on.
