Would you put up with this

My new viper squeaks as well but I can only hear it if I'm driving with no helmet on around the field. Once I'm on the throttle and have my helmet in I can't hear it anymore

Mine did it to its sway bar bushings sprayed with cheata grease, put 2000 miles on it with no issues only sprayed once.

I think it coming from where A arm make on. I had the same sound and would spray grease in there and it would stop.
I have my apart now for repairs after a crash and the bushing where the A arm make on had rust on them and was dry.

My xf 9000 does the same thing. My wife drove my sled and she says it sounds like the mice are driving with her. I've put motorkote on all joints bushings and boots etc. It helps alot. I do this every 100 miles and it seems to be good now. Wife's Doo doesn't do this but the front end on the Doo is no where near as good as the Yamaha /cat front end so to me it's fine.

My viper did this when new, hosed down everything i could with spray grease, let it soak in the heated shop for the night hit it again. Took the straw hosed down everywhere inside the boot. Also took a grease needle and stuck it underneath the ball joint boot and packed that with low temp grease. 5000 Miles and only one of the bushings on the steering leaks got noisy. Quick shot of white grease and it was gone.

My uncles brand new 1200X also did the same thing when it was new btw.

UPDATE....k took the sled to my dealership,it's under warranty. So called out the main mech. and showed him the noise,he said no way. OK almost points to the bottom balljoint like I suspected all along. No problems she'll be taken care of! Thanks guys'for any suggestions. Also may I ask has any of you guys' bought the EXTENDED warranty from Yamaha for your sleds and is it worth it ?

Saved me 1900 on the starter job was well worth it in my case

YES on YES - Yamaha Extended Service
The YES is a huge reason why I choose Yamaha and keep choosing. It is helped by a good dealer. I have had two new Ohlins Mono shocks replaced and rebuilt 700cc triple bottom end (recoil exploded while traveling braking chunk off the block) and antifreeze pump fail all covered over the 18 years I have had Yamahas- total of 7 sleds.

Well gentlemen I found something out today that's quite interesting!I received a brochure for exended warr. and called up a Yamaha customer service rep. He gave me the prices on 1-2 year plans, which is online as well, so the best part of the conversation is that he had told me these are retail which are flexible thru any YAMAHA dealer! This means I do not have to buy the warranty thru my actual dealer, my choice on who gives me the best rate!! WOW.It's like this also when you buy your parts- every dealer has a different price in CANADA.....

Some dealers are willing to cut warranty prices to hopefully get you as a customer. That's a good thing. Shop around.

I actually did this with Port Yamaha when I bought a 1 yr used sled. I believe it was Kevin -gave me a great deal.

By "taken care of", what exactly was done? Was the Mechanic shocked at the noise? Or no way, he didn't hear a thing?

Ok got my sled back from the hospital, mechanic went thru all the bushings up front -shock,control arms, and especially the sway bar mounts and bushings.Lubed them all up with never seize and test drove it,no sound coming from the front end.I actually went fishing yesterday with the sled and put on 90 miles and oh what a joy not to have a squeaky machine!!!I guess this is going to be a thing a guy has to watch for in the future, lube 'er up and keep on driving.
