I think we recieved everything we wanted. They took a big leap farther than they are used too! I like the line up ,just hope it matches up. I think it will.

The only problem I see is that so many new people will be buying Yamahas and joining this site. I hate to lose the closeness this site has had over the last several years. It may become difficult to keep track of who is who. On the other hand, more minds available to improve what we have. We all know, no matter how good it is we all want better, faster and cooler sleds. Most of the ideas come from right here.

More Yamaha brethren is a good thing. More and bigger rides will have to be planned.

I got lucky and had a chance to go to the show in Minneapolis we went to a big bike show on Sunday and stayed for the SMB show. The consumer show was crazy I bet there was 2-3,000 people there they ran out of brochures at like 7:00 if you go to one of the other shows get your brochure early. Everyone there was blown away. I could not believe how many Polaris and Ski-Doo jackets I saw at the event the place was packed. Definately check them out in person and you will be impressed I am.

We wanted better suspensions...they gave us the best OEM suspension made.
We wanted lighter 4-strokes...they dropped approximately 17lbs from 05 and a total of 60 to 70lbs from the original 1-ton.
We wanted better seats...they delivered.
Most of us wanted a little more forward rider postion...they delivered.
We wanted the Mono for the Warrior...they delivered.
Most of us wanted fuel injection...they delivered.
We wanted factory options for different shocks/setups like the other OEMs...they delivered.
We wanted more color options other than the plain blue or black...they delivered.
Yam hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Yankees with this lineup.
Tork great Avatar from Full Metal Jacket.
You haters crack me up.
That is so true. I bet this site played a big roll in the progression of the original RX-1. Yamaha did a hit with the 06 lineup IMO! Lets hope for long snowy winters to come!!!
I agree, and think the new lineup is totally impressive. I'm not crazy about the low windshields, but its' a showroom appeal thing, big deal. There's a ton of new packed into these sleds, and I have little doubt they will wicked good sleds. I can't believe some are accusing Yam of BNGs...

The only thing I don't understand is why they went back to a useless windshield. It looks like it was designed to funnel the wind to the rider. I'll probably get an Apex.
Whats with the people that say they won't buy them? We didn't hear that when the mildly changed 04, and 05 came out. At least one post said I'll keep my 03 because I wouldn't buy and first year sled. Duh. Allen's post hit the nail on the head.
I don't think I read about the track height. It looks like 1" in the picture.

Yooper, the track is a 121" ripsaw. The windshield could change for production fellas, remember all photos are of prototypes. Small changes can still be made.
Yamaha will pull some from the other brands to be sure with this line up. I like what I have seen so far.

Love the looks of the new plastic. Love the quick connects for said same. Love the EFI. Love the Mono ( Warrior no have ). Attak is priced 500 bucks more than last years Warrior. Pretty cheap EFI and Mono.
Don't really like the windshield and the rider forward but I'll reserve the right to change that opinion once I get a chance to see and ride one. I went Yami mostly because it was the only sled that mated with my sit down style of riding. Maybe it still does to soon to say. Will have to try one. While I'm sceptical a bit about the ride position I agree its no where near as radical as the Doo's. My knees don't like Doo's and Cats F series if borderline at best.
I think Yami gave what the market is asking for and then some. It seems to be working as the Doo Poo and Cat guys are not bashing but rather embracing the new sleds. I think Yami hit a home run with the sleds and we Yami riders ( you guys more than me I'm a newbie ) have helped them by showing that the RX is not a slug, it can handle and the motor will stay together. Perception of a 4 stroke sled is changing!

Because these are made in shared production lines with bikes I would not be surprised if they have been wind tunnel tested. The cowl and headlight look higher on the 06 models. It is quite possible that the windshields are more effective than we think.

good pint tork, with all the changes made to the 06's and the obvious R & D put into them do we really think Yamaha would just put a useless windshield on because it looks cool! I don't think so.
I like the windshield as it is and I do ride in really frickin' cold weather and long distances, it's a pretty simple solution-dress accordingly or buy a larger shield!!!
