Cat helps me stay with Yamaha each and everyday, I can put you in touch with a proud Cat owner, 2012 800 had a "stock" Nytro leave him at 600 feet and never look back, then blow a belt later in the day causing over $500 in damage. Ever see what happens to cheap white paint over plastic when a belt grenades?
i was riding with a new 12 f8 and took him from the launch and he never could reel me in, about a half mile race. I felt proud of the old girl lol. he also broke a belt a few days later and dint have a spare so he had to ride his other ticking time bomb a 2011 800 etec lol.....

from maxsled.com about the new 120.
To start with—and as a total surprise—Yamaha now has a SRX 120 kid’s model just to show that the younger Yamaha faithful can also have fun at 8mph. IT IS BUILT BY ACRTCI CAT with a 123cc 4-stroke Yamaha engine, similar to the Z120.
does yamaha even make their own sleds hahah

The Cat 120 and Yami 120 are the same sled. With what you said does cat make their own motors? O wait they don't cause Suzuki does... But I would say they were using their head in this instance they know 4 stroke is the way. Yamaha has a great motor and The Cat chassis already existed so why not....
