I love my under tunnel exhaust, but ice seems worse than ever. I am thinking about wrapping the system in header wrap. Has anyone tried this, or does any one know the pros and cons. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
Swelly,
The wrap will get hot, melt the snow that hits it, then absorb the moisture from the snow.
As soon as that happens, the moisture in the wrap will readily allow the heat from the pipe to be transferred out just as it was prior to wrapping...
...same problem - it just cost you more, and took a bit longer to get to the same result. Sorry.
Try spraying the inside of your tunnel and pipe with 100% silicone spray once or twice a ride...

Here is how I did my under tunnel - Does a good job of keeping the ice out of the tunnel.

Thought I already said thanks to everyone and apparently my computer yinged when it should have yanged.
Thanks for all the advice. Changed the way it exited the muffler and today there was less ice in the tunnel. Not to mention we actually had some fresh fluffy stuff.

Using one off a Kawasaki ZX 10. The price was right. Friend of mine scored a couple of take offs from the dealer. Was a little worried about the outlet size as it smaller than I would have liked, but with some clutching and gearing to match the CE I am getting great mileage and hitting rpm fine. I changed the angle of the outlet and last week end a whole lot less ice build up.
