Placed my order today for there new 2 inch plus seat for 06-10 Apex and Attak's. Ship's tomorrow, hopefully have it by Friday.
I'm surprised there has not been more of a buzz about this on TY.

They use to be an advertiser... would be cool to get them back. I would love you have one of those new seat. I have one of the Nytro Style on my XTX... great product.

Here's what found out today after talking to Mark at WRP. When he designed the new seat kit for the apex he was using a mountain apex seat. After my extensive reading about apex seats it's my understanding mtx and rtx models used a stiff chunk of foam in the base. If you have an er or gt model you don't have this piece and your seat is soft foam all the way thru. I am concluding this seat kit won't work on the standard seat. I'm guessing most riders are purchasing this to cure their soft low seat( er>). He is sending me a seat kit to try it out and explore the possibilities. Hopefully he can make the hard foam base if we are indeed missing it.

, I can see this is going to turn into a real cluster. When I called Mark last week about this seat I never thought to ask him if he used a mountain Apex for the mockup. Mybad.
Yes "yamirules" you are correct the Mtn. Apex has the seat base, a piece of styrofoam then foam then the cover. I'll know on Tuesday when Fed Ex. drops it off. I'll post the results.yamirules

Yep not good. I'm hoping he can take our feedback and add the hard foam block to the kit. Without it, we actually have a seat lowering kit! I'm tired of riding this marshmellow!

I just called Marc at WRP about this issue. He said as we speak they are in the process of making 50 of the hard block's (I.E. Apex Mnt./RTX Styrofoam style) and he'll ship me one out on Monday. He didn't know there was a difference between the Mtn/RTX and ER/GT seat's. He said all the kits will now ship with the hard block.

I don't think a Apex style seat will bolt onto a RX-1, I could be wrong? You can try to contact hibshman25 on this site. He sells Yamaha parts. Last weekend at the PSSA show he had a (RX-1 chassis) Nytro seat for sale. I even showed him where to look for the styrofoam in the bottom of the seatpan.fast1200gp said:great info,,what yr apex mountain/RTX seat would bolt on a 2005 rx-1? thanks

Apex seat will bolt right up to an RX1, all you need to do is trim your gas tank cover and put some door edge guard on it and it looks like a factory job. Huge improvement over the Rx style seats, if anyone wants an 03 RX1 seat I have one..lol. I got my seat from Hibshman25, I have also purchased a few other parts from him. A+ guy to do business with!

Received my seat kit this morning. They nailed it! This thing is firmer and taller and with a nice profile. I'm guessing it's more like 4 inches increase in riding height because of the support of the foam. I stripped out all the staples from the stock cover and removed the stock foam . I then Installed wrp foam kit and placed it on the sled. This is what I've been looking for! Sits you up higher on the machine. I'm having a local upholstery guy install the cover.

Great to hear. Is the seating surface any wider or narrower than stock? I feel that my apex seat is already too narrow so I'd like to verify this if possible. Thanks for posting your impressions of the kit though, I know a lot of people were wondering about this.

An apex seat will fit on a rx1 , you will have to trim the tank cover. I have ridden one and its much better than the stock rx-1
