in lue of yamaha not releasing a new skid in the 05 warriors im thinking about ordering a warrior and putting in a x-pertx and then ill have a 05 with a new skid :) , my questions are how much weight is saved going to this skid over my stock 136 inck skid, how is top speed, durability, shock options, and ride. if it matters i will proably be ordering 144" skids, also what could i expect to get for a brand new 05 warrior skid take off fully complete? thanks

Don,t buy the xpert skid. I toasted mine this weekend after 900 miles. I think the shocks blew out. Any weight on the sled & the suspension competely collapses. It is 12 pounds lighter then the yammie skid. I have run against a few RX-1,s & as long as both sleds were clutched well & ran similar tracks(9818 or ripsaw) the holeshot was the same. The x-pert smoothed out the small stuff a bit but the big stuff still pounds you. I have adjusted mine a lot too. If I had it to do over again I would not spend the $$$$ on the skid.

sorry to hear about your skid, according to a d boivin the shocks are kayaba's and are rebuildable, my doo's always lasted well, that being said 900 miles is a joke on a 1600 dollar skid. i typically do 5-6000 miles per season and relaibility is the big thing here, secondaly is weight savings. ride isnt so important as i really like how my warrior rides no, im just sick of seeing 10000 other similar sleds on the trail and am looking to do something different. i would also consider the m-10, but i have heard they tend to cut top speed down, also on the two skid how is the approach angle? riding off trail now i find the warrior likes to trench. finally are there any options like a holtz or mpi skid available in 144 that are light weight and ride ok

As soon as you put weight on the skid it completely collapses. The rear bumper actually touches the ground. when you get off the sled it looks normal. Shock seals are done!!!

I have the expert-x and I love it. Weight transfer is unmatched, and the ride is excellant. I have about 700 miles on it so far and have found it to be unreal. Traded sleds with a Pro-X guy this weekend and the ride is better than the Po and the weight transfer and hookup is incomparable. He couldn't believe it, other than my crappy 03 seat is so hard, that was only gripe about the "heavy pig". I beat mine very hard and haven't found any weak spots yet. Maybe you just got bad shocks, these aren't Boivin products so they don't build em.

Turk Come on. We've talked at length about the X. You told me there was no comparison between the X and the stock skid.

reasons the X is awsome

1. Weight transfore "No dam comparison!!!
2. track tension " I ran my track 4 inchs loose and never jumped a driver
3. racheting. It flat out never does it
4. Easy adjustment
5. Installation " I can remove my skid it 5 minutes. I can also put it back in by myself. If somoen helps me it takes 10 minutes to put it back in
6 Hyfax wear. I raced my sled on the grass this fall several times. My Hyfax not only looked brand new but after a run on the grass they were cool to the touch. Try that on a pro action.
7. It eat big bumps

Turk You want to sell it????

Jason..it is better but not 2K Canadian better. I expected more & was disapointed in it even after playing with all the different settings. Anyway..I got it now but if I had it to do over...no way.

Cowboy, I've been hearing good things about the Warriors skid so I don't know if the Expert skid would be enough of a improvement ($1600 :?: ) But I have 3000 miles on mine with no problems and it's very adjustable (I found it to be almost to sensative to small adjustments) and I'm VERY happy with the handling (this sled rails around the corners) 8) 8)

I've ridden My sled with the X then a stocker down the same trail back to back and there is no Damm comparison. the Stocker rides liek a brick. The X handels the bumps. I'm sorry you don't like it. However the proaction does't fuck___Ing compare.

the only bad thing is it tends to poggo on occation. I'm going to try some different setting this weekend. I'll lets you know how they worked
