XTX Hyfax Wear Near 2nd Last Bogey Wheel

Same story with my 2010 XTX. Changed the original sliders out at 1200km as they were 1/16" from the wear line and had a big trip coming up. The new slides wore down to the same point in 200-250km of decent condition trail riding. Next trip I put on over 1200km in four days and I don't think the sliders wore at all in that many kms. Still sitting about 1/16" from the wear line between the two bogeys. My experience has shown that they wear down fast to that point then pretty much stop. I guess that's the point where the wheels take the majority of the load. In hindsight I shouldn't have bothered changing the stock ones out when I did but I'll chock that up to a 46 dollar lesson. I'm not overly concerned at this point but it will be interesting to see what some bare icey lake running will do. That last trip that I did had very few lakes and those were completely covered in powder so no burning.

Yep, if you ride on open lakes for a streach wihtout ice scratchers you will lose those slides, It happen to me, the curve of the rail mostly. From my research and reading thisTY Forum the EXCELL WHEELS are the way to go. My queation is how bad is this affecting your track clips???????? Mine at times are blue from the heat. Should I Fully chip my track when I install the EXCELL WHEELS too.......Anybody got any sugestions????????
