So I am loving my XTX SE....BUT!
I am becoming more and more disappointed in the deep snow, the side hills, and steep bank running/launching compared to what I was used to last time I played with a sled made for deeper snow. Which was a 2003 SX Viper Deep Snow Special. I thought maybe I was just not used to it so I tried out two different friends sleds (800 doo and 800 Cat) and there is, like to admit it or not, a huge difference. It has the power, it runs through snow with ease, just can't throw the sled around the same. The weight makes playtime much more of a workout then I was expecting.
I know this sled is tweakable, so I want to hear what you have done to make off trail play more enjoyable.
Ski stance is already narrowed. I want to loosen my limiter straps to get some weight transfer back away from the motor (tried today but they were frozen up so I have to thaw it out first), and straighten the handle bars to more of an upright position (riser in the future).
Now the thing I'm not familiar with is these air shocks. Any good combinations that you found that helped?
If this matters, I'm 6'4", 240lbs and I am a bodybuilder, so don't say it's a strength issue lol.
Open to all suggestions. Time to experiment

what are you running now for pressure in your floats now I run 65 pds in front . what track are you running ? what tracks were on the other sleds you drove and I find commitment not strength the biggest factor to deep snow sledding I am just learning but the more I try and push myself the better I find it. this may not be your issue just mine. the cobra 1.6 I run is a good crossover track but limited in deep snow you need to keep up a lot of momentum to get it to perform. I have ridden with other sled that take less effort to ride but I have found the cat skid in 2 stroke or 4 stroke not as flickable as a freeride or Polaris pro for sidehilling just my opinion . I do love this sled I find it does nothing great but does everything well.

I love my xtx le but am wondering the same as it seems to sink a lot and drag its #*$&@ in the rear when in pow.
My limiter is pulled up to the second last hole and the Center shock is let out to 12 threads showing on the bottom.
115 in the rear and 65 in the fronts.
Love it on trails but like to see if it would float better in the rear in pow.

75psi in the fronts. I still have the stock 1.6" cobra track. The 800 cat I tried was a 1.35" (1.3” possibly??) cobra track and I believe length was 138"ish. Not sure at all about the ski-doo, I only know the cat track because I recognized the similarity to mine and asked what size lug it had.
I'll 100% agree with that statement...it does everything well, but not great. That's what I'm hoping to improve.

Different skis? Or just the tuners set to the narrow stance? What size riser and how much difference would you say it made?

Did you adjust the center shock yourself? Have you tried other variations of it and did that change anything?

what is your vipers stance now I narrowed my front end to 38" to make it easier to put on its side.

I am guessing you mean measuring from inside to inside of the skis? I haven't measured that, but I did set them to the narrower stance which I only know the center to center measurement from the specs given as 42". If I could get them 38" center to center that would be great lol

With this setup my sled loves the powder!

I changed my A arms to the same stance of the mountain sleds I believe the xtx Le has a narrower stance as well.

what percentage do you ride trails versus backcountry the 2.25 power claw changes the deep snow capability of this sled dramatically I have see one perform and puts mine to shame.

I ride about 60% of the time off trail and 40% trail. Now that we have more snow here I don't have to trail as far to find some good areas so the trail ride lengths are getting shorter now.
For those times I do ride trail, how much difference will I notice for handling if I did go with a 2.25 power claw track?
