I would like everyones review that haz this kit on their XTX. How did it affect handling bumps etc . considering getting it done but I like the current handling that the machine has. Going to do some shock work on it this year and thought I might concider this kit. Thanks for your input.

I like the star kit for my XTX. It handles bumps well. I think it is more forgiving, less jarring. If you like your handling , may not be worth your while. I'd call it a softer suspension feel, IMO.

Yep, much softer. Great for the trail and the studder bumps. However I wouldnt say its too soft, I ride on Soft spring preload and 2 clicks from soft on the rear shock.

the star suspension kit is very good. increases transfer on the xtx, allow you get the front end light, also gives it more of a rising rate (softer in the small stuff than stock but, resists bottoming more than stock also). I would suggest the center shock mod also (I believe it is a 1/4" shorter). I was very happy with kit, tons of threads on this. well worth the cash

I understand the softer ride but does it affect the front end handling of the Nytro since it raises the rear skid?

I installed it and also had them do the mods to the center shock. I'm 175l lbs. without gear. Definitely rides better on the bumps with less bottoming out. I set the preload on the front shocks to zero as suggested and I pulled up the limiter straps 2 holes. Before I adjusted the limiter straps, the skis would be in the air when accelerating and the inside ski would lift when turning. Haven't really played with the compression/rebound. I also added tuner skis and 144 studs. I still have to hang off and lean when turning but now it just hooks up and rips.

it doesn't make it sit higher...it just removes the static sag that bugs everyone when they are looking and playing with their sleds in the garage. The sag really doesn't hurt anything once your in the trails hitting bumps, so the star and stock would ride at around the same height i think.
It does transfer easier though, so when you stab the throttle coming out of the corner it does like to lift the front end easier. I personally like it, when you see a hole or big bump coming up you can pop up and only hit it with the track. In the corners, you just need to get into the hang of rolling the throttle on and off rather than stabbing it.
The star does change the progressiveness tho so its softer in the studders, and then on bigger bumps it gets stiffer. I don't think I have ever bottomed my rear shock since the star kit, other than once, when I got about 4' of air....didn't mean to do that though lol

The star Suspension along with re-value of your shocks is well worth it. I had my setup posted and if you want will try to find it and repost it. I have the strap sucked up one hole and then I balance the ski pressure with the center shock. You can bottom out but it very rare. The handling and transfer is awesome. Make sure you put your. Torsion into the front hole. There still is friction in the skid which causes sag but if your rear shock is good you will get excellent handling and transfer with light steering. I failed to rebuild my shocks this season and had to do the rear shock mid season. It really showed how much effect that shock had on transfer and steering push.
If I ever bought another nytro, the first thing I would do is the Star Suspension and Shock rebuild.

I am looking into installing the Star kit for my 08 MTX 153 for next year. The MTX skid is identical to the XTX except a little longer. The sled now is like a bucking bronco over the bumps. My shocks are baffed and I am on the hunt for some that are rebuildable. I really hope kit would improve things.

Only thing that concerns me is the uncoupling that the kit does to the skid. Reason being is that my XTX rails with my set up and I am happy with the handling of the machine with the coupled skid. Will the sled react the same way with the skid uncoupled, in the corners?
I am due for shock a rebuild this season and I am looking for ways to improve the rear skid ride, not the handling.

In the corners the sled really feels the same for the most part. I cranked my center shock up quite a bit after I installed it though, so its hard to have a direct comparison.
The biggest noticeable difference is how it eats up the studder bumps and is very progressive.
I really think the cornering is the same for the most part ....but you may have to pull up a hole to help with the added transfer aka ski lift. I moved my sway bar hole to the front, and my limiter is on the longest setting, and I love it.

I personally found that it made my xtx turn much more like a short track, along with all the other benefits listed many times.
