2011 apex xtx, having a rubbing issue with the rail tips contacting the drive sprockets. wondering if anyone has any ideals on why this could be happening. when the suspension is collapsed are your tips close to sprockets? I have the drive shaft out now and there is no bearing wear thinking maybe the bearings were gone. the suspension has no obvious issues all seems ok.

Ya mine has clipped the drive sprockets a few times. Seems to be a XTX thing!

Is it stock suspension or do you have the Star kit installed? Could the center shock/lighter spring that comes stock on these need service or a revalue to keep the front of the skid from scissoring too much and hitting the sprockets?

Mine is stock and I think it happens when going over moguls at slow speed. Not sure if its going up or when going down that it hits the extraverts. I have heard it hit, or so I think. Big bumps/holes you slow right down for seems to be the culprits. Sharp on both sides because if its a well rounded bump you hear nothing. Lately I have heard nothing and still have my tips. Will see if it gets worse with the Star kit or better.
Oh and it did this from new! Not hard just marks them a bit, 7,000ish miles and no problems with them.

seems strange that this is even happening, I get the same symptoms as sasquatch has described. the plastic tips are definitely worn some and it seems to rub hard and can cause the sled to almost be jammed up on the right type of mogul. this is should almost be a safety issue that should be recalled. I don't want to imagine this happening at the wrong time possibly at higher speeds.. I cant find any reason other than bad engineering. everything is tight and functioning properly.

I'm thinking without the extroverts it wouldn't happen so the sled skid was not designed with that in mind. Don't know how to fix other then to machine the extroverts or trim the rail tips. As I said mine rub enough to notice but have done no damage other then marking the tips.
