How is rebound adjusted on the XTX rear suspension? I see the knob on the center shock for compression.....nothing on the front shock ( with the spring).....so....WTF?? lol.....
Help.
Help.

There isn't any rebound adjustment on an XTX rear with standard shocks. The rear arm has a compression clicker only and the front arm has no adjustments other than spring preload. The answer to rebound adjustment is to have your shocks re-valved or replace them with dual clickers in both positions. Triple clickers if you want to pony up for Ohlins.

What are you trying to accomplish? Unfortunately the XTX doesn't have a rebound adjustment. The only way to adjust rebound is to mess with the spring and compression setting. I feel the rear skid is on the damp side so I turned my compression to the softest setting and increased the torsion spring blocks to the hardest position. If you wanted it damper, you could increase your compression setting and decrease spring pressure.
Eventually I would like to change to fully adjustable shocks.

Re: rebound
On my maiden voyage last weekend, I got pitched over the handlebars at 45mph. I hit a small washout, about 2ft deep. Tried to slow down...wasn't working, so I nailed the throttle to wheelie over it. I got the front end over, but the back fell in and rebounded hard...standing the sled on it's nose essentially. I held on for as long as I could, then bailed out....or got tossed off. LOL. I thought the sled was going to cartwheel over and land on me, but it landed on the track and proceeded to go off the trail into some deep snow. Thankfully I wasn't hurt, and the sled is fine. But the way in which it threw me off was so abrupt...so violent..that it just didn't seem normal. I also felt quite a kick from the rear suspension riding in a field behind my house....pitched me up off the seat pretty suddenly. So I'm looking for a way to cure the rebound.
Now...so you know, I had an 08 RTX last year...I rode that very hard, and logged 1200 miles on it. That suspension was awesome, and never acted like this XTX. Hopefully I can get it dialed in.

This isn't the first post on the rebound issues, so its definately affecting more than just you.

So, my skid is out so that I can install some RTX-SE shocks on my XTX to gain some much needed control of rebound and better control the compression. I love a project. The SE shocks are VERY impressive to hold and play with. The rear arm uses a 46mm triple clicker and the front a 40mm double clicker. Both shocks have massive rods. The rebound adjustments are simple and very effective. Compression adjusters aren't as easy to manipulate but once dialed I won't need to mess with them much. I can't wait to get the skid back together but the switch won't be a simple bolt-up install. I'll be using a die grinder and a tig welder to make things work. Even then the center shock will probably need a new, longer remote reservoir hose fabricated and installed, and then the shock recharged. Anyone know a suspension shop that'll do a 9-1-1 repair? The goal is to have it ready by Friday. Stay tuned!

Re: rebound
This is not rebound, this is compression setting. Your compression is to stiff. Work with it one click at a time. With the compression to hard it will not compress quick enough to absorb the shock. It then gives a bucking feeling like a pogo stick which will put you over the bars. Rebound is how fast the shock returns to full travel. Under load the shock will not rebound so there for it is not your issue. Think of rebound as the ability of the track to return to its full travel between whoops.
