Ok guys, here is my issue. I rode my XTX around the yard the other day when we had the good frost. Just couldn't help it, got the itch bad.
Loaded it on the trailer today and took her in for a bath. Cleaned all the grass and junk off her.
When I got home and unloaded her. I was backing it into my garage and it started to hesitate a little. Looked down and saw there was a yellow light flashing with the engine symbol also flashing on the digital screen. Let it idle for a minute and the motor smoothed out and the flash stopped. Let idle for aobut a minute and continued backing in with no issues. ??????
I am thinking I did not let it idle long enough when I backed her off the trailer. Thoughts and or would you agree.

Yep. Has a time limit where you are not supposed to touch the throttle while the light is on. I'm sure that's what happened in you situation. No worries... 8

Cool my thoughts too, just was a little quick on the fun button.
Eight hate to sound bad though, you got to stop sending and posting topics on here with your avatar pic. I can't keep from looking at that instead of reading the message. (Hopefully that is not your wife. Not that that would be a bad thing, but WOW!
)
Thanks

I was wondering about that as well. I have not touched the gas on initial start up yet but I am sure I would have if not for reading this. I started mine up today and it was a little chilly in the garage and my sled started up and sputtered and then stalled? Started back up it was rough for like two seconds then was fine. On my sport bike I have experienced this as well. Is it the same thing just cold blooded or should I be checking any thing? I am guessing no but I figured asking would hurt. Thank you gentlemen (and ladies if any)

I'd have to check about the "not touching the throttle with the light on" thing. I was thinking that the RPM's are limited during the warm up period. I could be wrong.

No RPM limit, it will move if you want it to, its just not a good idea untill the dummy light turns off.
I'm pretty sure I remember the "warm up" light being a solid-on red indicator - then just turns off when the engine reaches it's pre-determined setting.
The flashing yellow light refers to another sensor indication (low fuel, high temp, check engine, etc.)
Being that it was sputtering a bit it might have been sensing a "low idle" type situation or something similar.
I know that when I roll my sled out of being stuck a similar scenario occours till the engine starts to "clear out" - idle then goes back to normal and the indicators turn off.
Just a thought. . . .

My main concern was that I did not "F" something up with my sled due to not letting it idle up long enough.
Wouldn't that be my luck. New sled, no miles, no SNOW and I mess it up..........

It'll be fine...8
I don't think you have anything to worry about other than cold fouling a plug when not letting it properly warm up before use. As one of the worst things you can do on a 4 stroke is start it up then stop it before it has had a chance to get up to temp.
A sheer joy when it's done on a Phazer - if it's ever happened to ya you know what I'm talking about

Try doing that on a -10F day with a trail tank on. Talk about a bunch of pissed off guys, waiting watching you try to remove everything so they can ride.
