That sucks! i would be more thinking the boost gage then a/f gage, and we know that there no boost. At this point i would try to seal the air box and see what that does then sell it, however how does the next buyer know something isn't wrong?

This is a great honest thread.....people need to know you can't believe everything you read....I also know of another yamcharger for sale. Same deal, leaking air all around the housing, I have been around boost for 15 years from stangs, trucks and sleds to know......anyone that tells you that you can make boost like this you should never believe a word out of there mouth again. I ran the same machine on the test feild of 1000' with it and a hole day of clutching......and the next day with out it with 0 gain and I mean 0. If all you do is lake race you might get mph or 2 out of it, I don't know as I did not try. In a 1000' it sure doesn't do squat. Good luck with your sale gsxr.

I guess my boost gauge lies.
I guess my weight weigh scale is lying also?

87,
Both you and GSXR are known to be truthful, sometimes perhaps even passionate about it with you 87.
My take is they appear work well on the 2006 to 2010's based on reports from numerous reliable people such as yourself and professional testing.
I wonder if there is an issue with the 2011's either due to ECU programming, different fitment or perhaps some of the engine/ exhaust changes.
Turk has posted that he is not sure he is getting much if anything out of it on his 2011 XTX as well. It appears something is amiss on the 2011's which is not on the earlier years.

Must be loading up the heal cause there is no way I was putting any more weigh on the tip. I don't know man and don't want to argue. Just stating as tested.
I honestly would like run one that claims the six lenth gains like I have been reading. I'm not being a smart ace here, I am being honest and would drive up to 4 hours to do so.
87gtNos......What do you think your gains are with out nos.....just the yamcharger in 1000'? We both know on top end runs that it's mainly conditions of the day.

Thanks for the honest reports. It takes a lot of guts to admit these things aren,t all they are cracked up to be. I,m sure many others appreciate the honesty as well. I was very close to buying one, luckily the dealer was away when I went to order it.
Good luck to all the others that bought a kit, hope you get yours working and get the real 20 HP and or torque as was implied with this kit, and it,s not just a palcebo effect. I noticed that many guys, like 87 gtNos have many other mods as well. How you guys can seperate what only the yamacharger is adding is very puzzling. Keep on testing and posting. Sure makes for some interesting reading.

LOL, I guess my gauge is another liar. My impeller housing is leaking as well as they all do but my gauge is still showing 1.8 to 2 lb boost read from the plenum and put an honest 20 hp on to stock number's and made 93 HP to the track with CPR clutching. Yamer i have an idea, How about if we put your sled and mine on the same track dyno. Then we will know exactly what the difference in power is. The only thing is you have to come here as i know what the differences are and it is not worth the drive to me to prove it but you feel the need to tell the world that they don't work so prove it. The track dyno does not lie and leaves all the variable's out like studding, Track, Condition's and Rider size, etc. I don't know what GSXRs issue was or if it is something with the 2011's but they make the power claimed on earlier Apex's and that has been proven over and over. Turk was also in here stating that the Yam-Charger's were the real deal at one point. All this is common in the snowmobile world, What works for one the next guy can't make it work.87gtNOS said:YamerHammer said:This is a great honest thread.....people need to know you can't believe everything you read....I also know of another yamcharger for sale. Yammer, I am not talking about gains with NOS....
On the motor (y/c) I have 3.5grams more tip weight in plus 1.5 more in the middle. And these are 66gram BASE weights, NOT 62gr. This along with spinning the belt in the secondary, causing me to resolve that new issue!! Rev's 10800-10900.
My Y/C works. It is seen on the radar and in lake racing every weekend. Just this past weekend, on the motor, easily beat MachZ with 1100/twins.....walked a F1200 (f1000 with bigbore) up top, and maybe would even beat him down low if it wasn't for his chisels.
I am yet to find a Z1T that can beat me (on my motor) with stage1 setups, like 210-215hp settings.
280hp Z1T's vs. my 45hp shot of NOS are close on radar, but I think they run out of gear just shy!!
And as for running my Y/C vs. a WELL tuned stocker....the 6 length rule is real!

Turks latest update on the yamacharger says the jury is still out. I,m not sure thats much of an endorsment to spend 2500.00, and that man knows his stuff. It doesn,t seem to be a bolt on easy 20 HP to me.

kviper......for example.....I'm going to guess you have a roots type blower on your mustang....if you don't put a hole the size of a pencil on the charge tube and see how much boost you make and that's 8 pounds plus. There is air coming from all over with the yamcharger a leaf blower is sealed tighter.
