..
I can tell from this post that YOU have never ran a sled that is set up properly with a YamCharger..If so - you would never be speeking this way. :o| I had your mods listed in your signiture..= faster now..Dyno and race slips show that..

kviper......for example.....I'm going to guess you have a roots type blower on your mustang....if you don't put a hole the size of a pencil on the charge tube and see how much boost you make and that's 8 pounds plus. There is air coming from all over with the yamcharger a leaf blower is sealed tighter.[/I understand boost very well. two lb boost in the plenum is two lb leak or no leak. The difference is the Yam-Charger is capable of a lot of cfm but no mater how much you seal everything up you will only get 2 lb due to the tolerances that it is made to. I tried sealing all hole's and gained no more pressure and my gauge reads to one tenth of a lb. The kit is designed to this level to utilize the stock injection system and not require an intercooler, fuel pump or fuel controller and run on pump gas with out worry. I ran a 500' side by side drag race last weekend and easily ran away from everything I lined up with in the 1000 cc class. I ended up winning the class beating lightly moded Mach Z, 1000 CFR, ZR 900 and a stock Apex with ease. Mustang has a centrifugal charger (pro Charger) at 8 lb. I went that route due to a more linear boost gain so when my wife drives it and her foot slips she does not end up in the picker's. Drag radial's were still need to prevent this. LOL

Ha, Quote didn't work wright.

well, I just fired my sled up and I must say....a CRAP LOAD of air blows out the back of the housing!!

My housing is coming off tonight and I will try to figure out a way to seal it up better!

With this said....keep in mind, No and I mean NO performance was lost on the past weekend!! LOL!!

I can tell you it will be a wast of time. You will get two lb max no mater how sealed you have it or what RPM you run. That is how they were designed.

Right on I had the procharger on my 94 mustang running 17lbs. of boost. I am now running a turbo on my mystique mustang......running 20lbs of boost.

I have the same problem on my '06 Attak. Just don't seem to have any extra power. Don't have a boost gauge so I don't really know if any PSI is building. There is air leaking from behind the housing cover where it connects to the aluminum plate.
It takes almost a 1/4mile to pull away from by buddies 2010 Nytro XTX( 1.75" track) Mine is about 1.625" track. With a heel clicker 2 clutch kit, no extra weight added, can barely pull 10,500rpm( with ultimax XS belt )

just a thought on air leakage, at idle say 1500rpm, the throttle plates are closed. the air has to go somewhere, even at 1500 rpm it must move some air. as for no power gains with only 1.5 -2 lbs max at 10800 rpm, any other leaks will be critical.

Mine is all buttoned up and ready to go for the radar runs tomorrow!

You are correct grader, there is no need to worry about that blowby.

'attack 06', have you looked at your BARO gauge? With NO boost, the gauge will be dead steady. With Boost, it will flucuate.
Turn on your key, look at the BARO reading, then start the sled, it should go up! Watch the gauge as you rev the motor, again, it will change.

There is no reason that you sled would be down on power vs. the next guy with a Y/C if you both see boost!

Are you running the same clutching as last year? You should have started out with that.
I started with last years clutching, and the thing was revving 11200+!!

Turk is now second guessing his 2011 , as I did , also on my 2011 xtx yamacharged apex.

It could very possibly be the 2011 is too lean to make more power with the added 2 lbs ???.

I was going to add an air / fuel gauge but gave up, season is to short for me to do G forces r&d .

I ordered the MCX 200HP KIT , 3/4 installed for real boost!

We ran a 2011 xtx all stock ,
against 2011 xtx with yamacharger ,
Gforce clutching , and then stock clutching, reg fuel and premium fuel !

Cochrane to Hearst , if any one one knows the trail , approx 300km wide open running , for miles ,

No noticeable gains !!!!!

Same clutching. Even tried stock clutch, barely pulled 10,500 on a 1/4mile. Might be a stupid question, but I knows about the Baro sensor, hose n plugin connected, but I don't have a pressure gauge installed, is there anything I can use to check to see if it's building pressure?

At that rpm the engine will draw more air than the blower would provide and still creating a vacum. This is what is confusing me how the yamcharger can make any boost.....it is a compressor so for example, when you leave the drain plug open (the vavle) on a shop compressor watch the gauge it won't hold any psi and on only a 1/4 inch hole. So to you that have the yamcharger that know how much air is leaking knows what I am talking about......it's alot more than that little 1/4 hole in alittle shop compressor.

Hey guys, the 2011 Apexes are definately lean on top, remember dyno tech knew this back in July when the dynoed the one they got. So adding a yamacharger, without added more fuel on top, ain,t a good combo. For the guys running these yamachargers on the 2011 Apexes, maybe your lucky the cases leak and your not pumping much more air into these engines, cause that might make them way to lean. I would say if your determined to put a yamacharger on the 2011, try the fuel controller first, and at least get the extra 10 HP back that Yamaha claimed these things had in the first place, as seen on the poster at the yamaha dealer I visited just last week. Then richen thngs up even more as required with the yamacharger.
