I have a 2009 Apex RTX 121" skid. I bought the factory hi-performance hy fax part number SMA-8FU92-00-HP and they are 2" shorther than the factory replacement hy fax. I believe that based on the wear I am seeing on the hy fax I am replacing, wearing all the way to the rear of the hy fax, that once the shorter hy fax wear down, thw track will hit and start wearing down the rear of the rails. Any thoughts on this?
The rear wheels take the pressure off the rails before the end. It should be okay. Strange that they are not long enough to need trimming.

I bought a set of the High Performance Wide Slides recently that was too short also. But then another replacement pair fit perfect. It was weird. Maybe the factory has poor quality control or they get marked wrong at the factory (sizing/ Yamaha part #'s). Drastically different lengths with same part #.
I noticed this issue also tho is my point. Return them and get a set that is the right length from dealer. I ended up bringing in my old slides also as evidence of the new ones being too short. They would have given me a hard time I predicted if I didn't have proof. There was not much they could say.......

Funny, that was exactly how my dealer tried to rationalize them being too short, that it wouldn't matter. Not trying to argue at all, but I made them give me a set of slides that cover the entire rail, all the way to the end.
Trust me, I run a lot of $$ through that dealer buying sleds, atv's, parts for everything, maintenance supplies, etc and my point was rails need to be protected by slides. If the slides are too short = no protection at the back.
They are at least 2 1/2 inches off the back of the rail. The factory are 1/2 an inch off the back of the rail. I checked the part number on line and they are correct. The old ones wore to the very end of the hyfax and I have the bigger Skidoo wheels in the rear?
I want them to be the right length too. That said it is Saturday, and to miss a day of riding over that is worth overlooking something that won`t be noticeable.

It looks like SMA-8ES92-00-HP is the part number for the 2009 Apex RTX.
I just ordered a set last week for my 2009 RTX, they will be here today and i will verify

ryannemeth, let me know what lenght they are. Mine where 41" for part number SMA-8FU92-00-HP. I checked your link and I wonder what the difference is between SMA-8ES92-00-HP? I wonder if the mono shock skid is shorter than the proactive skid?
