Has anyone tried the yamaha flexable ice scratchers. I put a set on my venture gt and the cable broke off both of them right where they come out of the mounting brackets anyone have this problem.

We've put a set on our 2011 RS Venture this season and have about 2000 km's on the sled without any issues. Work great and almost no wear on the sliders. We have ridden down in districts 1, 4, 7, 8, and 9 which have a lot of road edge trails and we have had no problems with lubrication. They are flexible enough to back up with. We installed them as per manufactures recommendations.

It may or may not make you feel any better, but I was interested in those Yamaha scratchers but read some negative reviews about them. I decided instead to go with the Duraflex (i.e. Slidekicks) version. One of them failed on my very first day of riding.

i had the tric ice scratchers, its a steel cable with a stud, not very good if you ask me,lost one this season,it broke off at the mounting connection, the other one,the stud is gone,do not waste money on that item, had them for 2 seasons

I can not comment on the Yamaha ones, I can say I have SlideKicks on my attak and the wifes Blizzard for going on three years now. Replace the tips once a year or so depending on how much road riding we get. I have no complaints about them what so ever. They work great and do what they are supposed to.

thks

 thanks for the feedback seems i'm not the only one experienceing problems with these scratchers

X2 - I also find they loose tension when you have them in the parked position - not the item they are advertised to be. I've tried both Yamaha and Slidekicks and no difference.
