Not to mention NJ with some of the highest costs in the nation and the ultra-liberal gov't. Sanctuary state....give me a break!!!!
 

Good move..Ca is not a place I'd ever think about going to period.
 
I dont know how it is down in the states, but in Canada, and Ontario specifically, its not the costs of the bike, its the insurance. I'm 32, clean record, full bike license, been licensed for 10 years. An R1 would be $5-6000 a year for insurance.
 
I will say this. California has a huge off-road following. It's not hard to avoid the Cities and just enjoy the good in that state. Spent a few weeks at Glamis it was unbelievable!

Yes I should have said that but I would call cars a necessity but their prices still keep going up. Even the used car market is unbelievable right now. There are trucks that are 15 years old that as selling for close to 20K.

I believe it's the taxes that does it. Free health care? who knows what else. 30 hr work week?

That doesn't make a lot of sense, my bike (K1600GT) with no previous Ontario driving record (new rider from Ontario perspective, 15 years in California) and with a clean record, full insurance is around $2400.00 and that's canuckistan duckets, not the mighty green. I was quoted an R1 at the same price. All they care about is the displacement and years of experience, at least that is what I was told. Also, in two years that same $2400.00 goes down to $1200.00 if (knock on engineered floors) I have no claims.

Glamis is awesome and of course you an always pop over to Nevada as well.

Little Sahara,Utah.StAnthony,Idaho all great Huge Dunes less than a day drive apart. Only issue is it all is best riding right when I am Snowmobiling!

I know a lot has to do with displacement. My Viper (1050cc) is more expensive to insure than a Sidewinder (998) just because of the displacement.
