Well I bought my Nytro xtx used last October and headed up North a couple times last year and managed to put on some miles. The sled has 3000km on it and I was just curious of what parts wear prematurely that I should check out that may require replacement. I have read posts on people replacing spindle bushing, and doing the oilite front end bushing kits and replacing lower ball joint but I am not sure the proper steps to checking to see if these parts are worn and in need of replacing. I figured I should check this stuff out now and replace whatever I need to so I'm not ripping the sled apart during the season, hopefully there is a season this year :o|
Thanks a lot guys!

to check the bushings jack the front of the sled up and carefully grab your spindle and move it around, i bet there shot

Yup like above ^^, keep it on your stand in for avatar. Try to move the arms, skis around and you will see where the loose parts are. More then likely your arms bushings, lower ball joints, ski bushings will be worn/shot. Use oilits for bushings, NCI for balljoints, bushmans kit for ski bushings. Also I would drop the skid to inspect that too, hyfax, limiter straps, loose bolts etc.

alright thanks I will have to check it out, since I have split rail skis those will probably take special spindle bushings.

If you have split rails, the bushings might be fine since you have different spindles with the skis.

Split rail Skis make me giggle like a school girl in the corners. Whole new machine with a whole new appeal! Shane

Rode w/the Split Rails last yr. and sold them w/my sled. They are a great addition. This yr. i am going to try the curve ski's w/the skinz new front end.
