Starts up ran fine at my house all summer. Went upstate to ride ran it for 1/2 hour stopped for food when I came out stated but no head light. Rocked the sled back and forth with brake on headlight came on. Rode it back home ran fine light never went out . One hour later went out it just cranked no start grabbed brake rocked the sled started right up no lights. Rocked it again few times lights came back on please help

Relays are freezing up. One for lights and one for starting.

the lighting relay is frozen for sure. might be time to replace them with the new version.

Awsome thanks for reply it was 10 below and 26 below 0 . Is it due to cold or just freezing due to age? If they need to be replaced what do they cost and best place to get them thanks greg

$15....don't you have a buddy that sell Yamaha stuff??? :)

FYI, there is only an updated red solid state relay for the fuel pump that can also be used for the load control relay, which is the same type. Headlight relay is different and is probably fine anyway.

At those temps, they just freeze. Known issue even when new.

Thanks guys dokc you find me everywhere old friend how are you? Can you post part number for my round friend to order them up

My dealer was really insistent that to only use the red steady state relay for the fuel pump only. Not sure the reason why.

I had the headlight one freeze once before I let it run for a few minutes and it warmed up and worked.
