Which Sidewinder matches up the best with the 2017 Arctic Cat XF 9000 Cross Country Ltd 137? A friend has this AC which I like but I prefer the Yamaha clutches.

I would think the SW XTX 137. It has the Qs3 shocks and the 1.75 back country track. I would go to the Yamaha and Cat web page and bring them both up and compare.

Gearing different, Yamaha gears higher, faster top end

Cat has 22/48 gearing vs the winder at 21/41 gears. If you plan on tuning the sled with that 1.75 track, be prepared to be dealing with possible clutch heat issues on the Yamaha. Im dealing with clutch heat issues on a 1.6 ice cobra track, tuned and clutched for 275 hp. I was going to change gearing to 22/48 but decided to go back to a ripsaw 2 1.25 with nails instead. Hoping all clutch issues subside for me, lol

Belts are holding up well on the Cats. At St Germain last weekend the Cats dominated the side racing running the same tunes. One guy even owns both, running the same TD tunes and the Cat is a tick faster.

Ive been hearing same...Cat has better belt life.

What i wonder about tho, is it due to the ultra hi end belt cat offers?

The YAM belts were never designed for big heat/power....

Wonder if anyone has tried a CAT secondary on a winder?

Dan

Cat dropped the prices on their belts from 199 to 159 MSRP. My dealer sells me the new Cat belt for the same price as an XS. The Dayco XTX can be found cheaper but the new Cat 112 is working well. The guy winning in St Germain has 500+ miles on his 112, most of it racing or riding hard. Can’t believe it because he and I are running the same stuff I’ve been told here just won’t work :).

Even if that is more than a Yamaha belt it’s worth it as I don’t know of anyone on a Cat that has blown one. I’ve seen a few reports but nothing like the Yamaha. FB is just full of posts.

I wish we could run it!

I assume it would take both primary and secondary swap to cat, in order to run the cat spec'd size.

Doubt we will ever see YAM come out with a new belt, or even a fix for belt life....its like YAM is not anything but an engine supplier these days.
